Re: Shaguar

Also - doesn't look like the Jag will make it again this year. Just too much to do and only one Gary to do it...

We will still be going down in the bus and manning the lake entry for the week.

Re: Shaguar

Hi Jay Yep, saw the photos, brought back a few memories... I think a Cortina was the winner on the day?? No - not there to take part in the challenge although that would have been good and the LSR jag wasn't even thought of back then. The twin turbo Jag still exists and has passed through a few owne...

Re: Shaguar

Time for another update. Been a bit slow with these due to work... Gary sent through a layout of the engine plate for the front of the V12. This is the final version of the motor with the twin superchargers: https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/i218/falcon351/engine_plate(1).PNG In the layout you ...

Re: Shaguar

Photo update! Gaz wanted to check out the coolant flow with a V12 engine so decided to pull one out of the parts cars that he has. As you can see it was a little rusty to begin with: https://hosting.photobucket.com/images/i218/falcon351/RUSTY_XJS.jpg So he undid the gearbox cross member bolts and th...

Re: Shaguar

No photos for this update but I'm sure they will be forthcoming. I spoke with Gaz mid week and he is still hard at work despite lockdown in Sydney. He has been lining up work on the fuel rails with Newby in Sydney as they can work on them while locked down. He's ordered the injectors which are 2400c...

Re: Shaguar

A bit more of an update: Gaz has been working on the RHS headlight bucket area where he is going to put the oil filter. The picture below is of the RHS but he is also working on the LHS where the oil reservoir will sit. You can also see the V12 sitting in place. The latest news is that there will be...

Re: Shaguar

Having met Big Gaz (usually in the showers at the DLRA camp That's where Gaz usually meets people.... I think the issue you had with the images was just a caching thing. The images were mostly blocked by Photobucket. I subscribed just to get them back online. Rob's images are gone for now b...

Re: Shaguar

I heard a report that someone wanted to look at roll cage photos but the image wasn't working. Let me know the page number if anything has dropped off and I'll sort it out. Just went through the first 10 pages and all looks OK. Saw a post from 2007 where I'm telling some of you lot to get on broadba...

Re: Shaguar

Thanks Pete - too late, sorted out the issue. So - updates. Gaz is back at work on the Jag preparing it for next year's event (2022). He found a V12 that had already been built but still required work to the heads. I think that took three years to finally get done by the bloke selling the motor? Gaz...

Re: Shaguar

Yeah - it's been a loooong time between updates but we are committed to restarting the build page with the work underway by Big Gaz for next Speed Week. I'm also going to see about getting all the old photos that were on Photobucket back up on the pages.

Stay tuned - should be an update this weekend

Re: Dates for 2020

March as well. It was a struggle installing all the timing gear in the heat.
