Yup :lol:,, You raise a cuppla valid points, with doing the resurch, putting it out there for all to comment on, not cutting corners, and trying to get it right first time,, by doing this, hopefully it will be a little cheaper next time out 8)

I recongise you now lol,,

Looking at the sketch above,, rule of thumb is that with bodywork 6* is a good closing angle on the tail,, given the width of the engine/chassis, you may have to place the rear wheel further back to achieve this,,

It will be interesting to see what the "Real" effect of altitude had on these speeds ,, Ralphs bike has gone 266 in the 1.3 miles of El'Mirage, and Al's just undergone a rebuild on the Honda, so the potential for faster speeds was always there,, I guess when thay run at Bonneville will answer my que...

Yup Tiny,, Chris's bike was more like a stretched conventual bike with an "extremily high c of g", this animals dimenshions(dynamics) are a world away from it,, uuummmm what was his fastest speed ??

Have built quiet a few dragbike chassis ('ole skool laydown type), from experience 45* with a low c of g and weight, the steering on that thing, with a conventuial rounded motorcycle tyre, at low speed, will be way too heavy, increased rake promotes "flop",, Hoof's bike weight compared to yours is l...

IMO tyre size makes Jack Shite difference on high horsepower machines :mrgreen: ,,

I have always run 180's, this year on Sams "Production" ZX12 we had a 210 on there, she ran a comfortable 203mph at a conserative 10600rpm (12+ redline) 8)

Appricate your point Dave,, me thinks that there wont be hords of'em and their speeds will be comparable too most sub 200's out there now ,, In 2004 ran my 82 Turboed Kawasaki GPZ (naked) to an easy backing off licence pass off 160,, with the experience (feel) for speed gained over the years since, ...

Since the downturn of the mining industrie up this way (Bowen Basin), there is a lot of machinery "parked up",, There would be any number of fuel tank/trailers gathering rust and going for a song,, I am out of the mining loop, will ask around, but would suggest somewon in the know on here might make...
