Importing Race Cars to Australia

G'Day All, I have had an enquiry from a Bonneville Racer, thinking about advertising his car here in the hope that someone will buy it and import it. So who has had experience or has current knowledge of importing a race car to Australia? To get the ball rolling, apart from the actual container cost...

Lake Gairdner condition report July 2018

The photo below came via a friend of Norm Bradshaw's who is doing some touring in the outback. It was taken on the Friday 6th July around lunchtime and shows about 4 inches of water over the lake as far as the eye can see. Position is at the ramp looking directly across the lake to the west, you can...

Re: 2019 Speedweek dates?

Understand Pete, thanks for the heads up on that.
Just spoke to Russell, there is one of their team who will be affected and he will travel to the lake on Monday morning and be there for the afternoon's proceedings.

List of new equipment and procedural changes required for 2019 now complete. Just had certificates printed, they will be mailed out in the next w...

Re: Visibility vertically through wind screen

This is an issue for planning and design of a lot of vehicles and includes not just windscreens but engine protrusions and bonnet scoops as well. The track markings we provide now are a compromise with what will be visable vs what will stay up in the strong winds we experience vs what will do the le...

Re: 2019 Speedweek dates?

Short answer, nup. The dates for Speed week are determined to provide the best conditions, to start moving dates even a week either way can make it much harder to conduct our event. I use historical data and long range forecasts including temperature, wind, moon cycles (water table). If we had to mo...

Re: silly newbie question

What you are looking at are the results for a particular year.
And yes it shows every run they made for that year.

If you want to see the records for every class you need to go to;

Re: Two way runs for 2019

Current rules state; To be eligible for the 200MPH Club, the competitor must have exceeded 200MPH whilst setting a new record for their class. The DLRA also wishes to recognise each of those competitors who have achieved 200MPH for the first time. In recognition of their achievement they receive a s...

Re: Two way runs for 2019

Also we are writing in an exception for vehicles where there is multiple drivers / riders. If they qualify they will still have to go to impound to be checked and tagged or whatever, but can then attempt the record the same day. Note, this is only for vehicles with multiple drivers / riders. Everyon...

Re: Two way runs for 2019

All two-pass / average records will have a set minimum.
It will either be the same as the existing one-pass record or say 5mph less than the one-pass record.

If we had them all open, then everyone who runs on the Monday qualifies to run for the record on the Tuesday.
