Re: Phase out of leaded fuel by September 2019.

If you are running GAS class and you think you know what petrol you want to run, I would strongly suggest getting a sample of it that we can test with the Digitron, that is the only way you are really going to know. We can bring the Digitron to the General Meetings and conduct tests there or make so...

Re: FIM,FMN ?

G'Day Ronnie, I have had 2 meetings with CAMS (FIA) and they are really keen, will be going back to them this month. Have spoken to Reudi who has offered his "help", just not sure what that is at this stage. Will be contacting Motorcycling Australia (FIM) this month as well. I have received a firm c...

Re: Phase out of leaded fuel by September 2019.

G'Day Aaron, Below is the wording from the DLRA Rulebook. (Basically the same as SCTA rules, just a different machine for testing). When we get asked by entrants what petrol to use or buy for GAS classes, the easiest (for them and us) answer to give is, buy what ever you can get from your local serv...

Re: Two way runs for 2019

Introducing something new and a significant change it was always going to be a suck it and see. Some people responded better than others. Some people do not like or easily accept change. There were several changes to the way impound ran over the week. The main difficulty was a lack of volunteer insp...

Dates for 2020

Ok, here is your chance to have a say. I'm very much aware that the extremely hot weather we experienced this year from the Thursday to the Sunday wore a lot of people out before the week had even started. Yes, it was unseasonal for March. Here's the dilemma, do we go for February, when I "could" be...

Speed Week 2019 Results

When I get home, there is a process for me to follow. Firstly I check that each entrant has done their volunteering as this is a pre-requisite for having your results published. At this time, entrants who have not been checked off as having done a job will be contacted to determine why they did not ...

Re: Pre-Race Lake Inspection Report

The two most frequent questions I repeatedly get asked are; Q1. Will the rains from Queensland flood the lake? A1. No, they are not even in the same catchment areas and Lake Eyre is lower than Lake Gairdner, so it catches all the water. Q2. What's the roads like? A2. The main dirt road from Iron Kno...

Re: Two way runs for 2019

Understand what you are saying and why you would want to do it that way. As the rule is currently written it says. 1.G AUSTRALIAN RECORD RUNS: Two-way average records are established by a two-run average over the same relative or physical mile, depending upon course conditions. Only the fastest aver...

Pre-Race Lake Inspection Report

Michael Brixton, Peter Noy, Korey Bligh and Steve Vorwerk were on the lake today and found it to be in very good condition, hard, dry and flat.
This confirms that Speed Week 2019 is most definitely on.

Looking for characters....

I have been contacted by a producer from SBS. "I'm making a story about SPEED and why we like it so much. If you could connect me with some characters/racers, who are competing at Dry Lakes that'd be great. I can roam around on the day at the raceway and interview people on the go but it'd be helpfu...
