Re: Photobucket Policy Change

Having a forum host images blows your disk space real quick, and space is money. So I can't see it happening any time soon. One of the things I am considering is moving to a purely overseas host as the one I'm looking at offers much more disk space than our current Australian host. The downside is t...

Re: WA rookie team have a Hudson Terraplane

G'Day Gus, I got your message, but I thought I'd post the answer here so that others can see as well. Can't help you wiith any more space on the forum to host images. You can still link to Photobucket thumbnails and they will show up here. Example http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/dlra2/2017/th_...

Re: Diesel fuel trailer

Greg Telford has "obtained" 3 steel tanks like what you would see on a farm (well some farms, at least) that will be suitable at a very good "morning price". There is a requirement from our fuel supplier and the laws for these tanks to be bottom fill. One of the tanks we have has this and Greg is mo...

Re: Four Tracks for 2018

Harky Greg's comments in bold italic I was working the the start on the GPS a few years ago and some guy, on a bike, complained that the bike line was going slowly. Mabe 10 bikes in one line and 3 cars with tender vehicles in the other-- about the same length. He asked why has the car that just wen...

Re: 2018 Rulebook is now available

I'm new here, could you please tell me why are there no rulebooks in 2005, 2007 and 2008? Thanks! If you intend to be part of the DLRA then the only rule book that will concern you will be the latest version as any past ones will be out of date. There could have been a couple of reasons but the usu...

From Greg himself

Simple break on the thumb and a few bruises
Emergency guys were there real fast , and took no chances making sure I was ok ,if it had been more serious I would have been in good hands"

Greg Watters

Just read this on Facebook Greg just went down in the breaking zone at the Colorado mile. He was standing back up and walking before any crash response vehicles could even get halfway to him. He is an incredibly lucky man and one tough Aussie SOB. Update from Kim He's ok. Broken thumb and used all t...

Kim Krebs had an exciting time, blew her bike up at well over 200mph and the bloody thing caught fire.
There is a photo on Facebook of her jumping off the burning bike.
Fortunately no injuries. Well done Kim!

Re: Photobucket Policy Change

The problem I have found with all alternatives to date is that when they save the image they save it to an encoded filename. Not a problem if you are talking about one or two images, but I'm looking at THOUSANDS!! Plus no other host will automatically do thumbnails like Photobucket. With the DLRA si...

Re: Diesel fuel trailer

I was dreaming the other day about how we could make our lives better/easier and I came up with an all-terrain fork lift/loader with a drum adaptor. It all exists now trouble is justifying the $30-50,000 to buy it. http://www.aalhysterforklifts.com.au/uploads/newforklifts/images/agria_large.jpg http...

Afflick - Afflick & Afflick - AAA Land Speed Racing Team

For those poor souls who don't do social media JP just set an average of 106mph to be the fastest 100cc bike in any class! Yeehah AMA record in the books. It was a long day, at the salt at 7:45am for a 8am drivers briefing. We then got the bike ready and headed for pre stage at 9am. It's a different...

Re: Diesel fuel trailer

We now have 2 x 1000 and 1 x 1500 steel tanks and Greg Telford has worked out a way to get all the diesel (and extra) and petrol back to the camp.
We now also have a manual high volume petrol drum pump.
And Craig Rogers has donated 12 new, clean drums and a drum trolley.
