Hawkwind- I apologise in advance for the "highjack" but think what follows is sort of relevant in relation to "bang for your buck I am a lone wolf- the fab., welding, design, engine build, paint etc is all being done by yours truly, as I suspect is the case with most land racers. It i...

Re: how much

Don't forget the safety gear. Good helmet, fire suit, hans, belts, fire bottles, plus 200mph plus tyres and approved rims. I refuse to add up what i've spent so far on my vette, but it would be North of $30k, (without the initial cost of a "damaged" corvette from US) I have most of the eng...

Re: Landracing tyre cost

Thanks Greg- I took the plunge recently and had 15" steel wheels made, because 15" seemed to be the most common, so I assumed more available, and (ha ha!) less expensive! Denis

Landracing tyre cost

I plan to run G/Year LSR tyres, rated to 300 mph. G/Y is about to manufacture a new batch (per Landracing.com) I have just been quoted "ballpark figure" of $850.00 each, by North Terrace Tyres. The tyre is# 2284 25.0x4.5-15 Does this seem "right?" Has anyone brought in L/R tyres ...

Re: DLRA General Meeting and Information Day

Point taken Gaz- I had not meant "live" but a recording which could be downloaded later. I've been involved in personally taking minutes, and also in trying to correct minutes which did not accurately record the "spirit" of the meeting. No worries, it seemed like a good idea at t...

Re: DLRA General Meeting and Information Day

Greg- I know this is a big ask, but is there any possibility of the Gen. Meeting being recorded, and then made available for members to download from the website. I realise this would add to your workload but as a sign of good faith, I am prepared to put $50.00 in the pot, towards the cost of necess...
