cd vs wetted area

Hi Guys any budding aero engineers want to comment?? In the chase for the best cd, where is the point where added wetted area loses you more than you gain on cd changes eg you could build a 70 foot long streamliner with a cd of .1 but a laymans guess is that it would be less efficient than a 30 foot...

that, 2 strapped together with a common gearbox
