Re: Lake Omeo 2012

Where are we at with this? We've had nothing but rain in East Gippsland for months. Best snow season for years. I haven't been for a drive up but one of the guys from the gun club who runs a farm at Benambra reckons the lake's as wet as it's been for years. :( Trying to work out whether I'm staying ...

Re: SPEED WEEK CANCELLED !!!

I'm gonna ask a dumb question. If motors like cooler air as it is more dense wont it be counter productive to run in jan or feb when it's as hot as hades out there? Dave Dave I've been out there when the temp was a reported 45° and there was still records set. And even that day it wasnt too bad, com...

Re: SPEED WEEK CANCELLED !!!

A day of highs and lows.... Excited that speedweek was looking like a goer this morning. A bit down when I found out that a colleague has been diagnosed with a terminal illness. Then the phone call from Rob to say it was off... At least I wasn't going to race. I feel for the guys & girls who've ...

Re: Alcohol and Drug Testing

Hi Scott, At this stage there'll be a couple of Victorian Paramedics floating around for the first half of the week. I'll try and track you down when we get there and make sure we both know what we look like. I've been utilised before .... I work on the basis that if we plan well Murphy will play so...

Re: Lake condition and forecast

Hi Scott, Thanks heaps for taking the time to go and have a look. That's pretty depressing footage, though the music was nice.... All of our fingers now crossed for two weeks of hot dry windy weather. As we were rolling this into a spectator trip for early in the week followed by a trip out to Maral...

Re: Lake condition and forecast

If my understanding from attending previous years is correct it doesn't need a foot of evaporation if the wind pushes the water somewhere else further up the lake for us. Just a bit of sun & the right wind direction to keep it there. I'm planning on getting there for a couple of days early in th...

Re: Lake Omeo - any news?

Hi All, Given that blokes I know were planning to shoot up there for duck opening I'd say it has water in it at the moment like everything else. I have a few contacts up there through the gun club. It was dry for a long time but a few weeks ago it apparently had about a metre of water in it. I'll fi...

Fer enuf then Rocket. One problem with forums is they lack the tone, body language and cheeky smile - and the can being handed to you at the same time as the verbal is delivered that you get in the competitors camp. I take it all back... but you can still get the first round though I'll happily prov...

Be very wary of volunteers that don't race How about be very careful of insulting volunteers that don't race.... After coming in 2006 as a spectator, and volunteering to solder hundreds of joints into miles of timing wire while others who weren't necessarily competitors assisted untangle miles of w...

Sitting at home crying into my beer. Should have been in the Big 4 at PA by now.... Work sucks. Though with the Surf Life Saving Championships on in town this weekend the scenery hasn't been all bad. It's a different panorama to the one I took this time last year. http://lh3.ggpht.com/_eXLbFMREhOA/S...

It was Andy Jenkins vehicle and ran on Thursday unsuccessfully. I watched from the canteen and felt sorry for Andy.

I hope he has a better year next year.
