Hey Russell See if Hooper have bearings with a tapered sleeve to lock them onto the shaft. They may not be available in the size you need I think it would be better than using grub screws and putting stress risers in the shaft. Try to use metric bearings where ever you can. It has to be legal because it is originally designed for a bike.
It doesn't matter it was later developed in karts.

Yes--I use an SV 650 wheel on the rear.
What you might need to check is the load rating of the tire you want to use-- that engine is a big weight on the rear tire.

Hi Russell The bussa IS the force that should propel a fast land speed bike :-) I think you are right about the rod end. The load is vertical and there will be enough steering lock. If you are using Photobucket that could be the problem.
They are trying to charge for the storage.

Hey Russell With the top pivot for the fork, I think the rod end would like it more if you screwed the shank into the main frame and bolted the ball to the fork. Maybe a plate on top of the ball to make it in double sheer. It could do with some triangulation from the steering head back to the chassi...
