Re: FAST FIBREGLASS

We were doing a flying K event sometime in the mid 80's on the old tram road (a long straight two lane sealed road that runs along the Canterbury plains from near Rangiora towards the hills and has hosted quite a few record attempts over the years including a Vincent powered side chair land speed re...

Re: FAST FIBREGLASS

The bottom two pics look like Mike's Aero as I remember it. Will be home later in the month and hope to catch up with Mike - if that works out will pick his brains on the real world results of that shape or better still see if he will post on this thread/forum.

Re: FAST FIBREGLASS

I just had a look at the pic properly and that's the Aero even though it looks to have had repaint from when I saw it last (the angle of the shot sort of hides the clip on wing thingies and you can see a bevel head sticking out the front. The Britten spec sheet is probably for a bike out of frame in...

Re: FAST FIBREGLASS

Hi Pete, As far as I recall (this was a couple of years back and we all had our own nutty projects going on at the same time) it was Mike and John working on the Aero-De-Zero together and Mike carried on with the Aero and John launched into the first of his bikes. The Aero had sort of spoiler wings ...

It had the same solution to parting the air at the front and judging by the way Mike could pu...

I was in John's workshop when he was nutting out the idea/layout for the carbon fiber girder fork type set up. This consisted of lengths of brazing wire being tacked, wrapped and twisted into shapes that made little sense until I was back the following week and he showed me a frame work that held th...

Newbie WA

Hi Folks,

I'm looking at the logistics on paper of putting a car together for the salt and need a friendly (and patient) rep or club member preferably in Perth who I can run it all past and hopefully get a handle on the class in's and outs.

Thanks in advance,

Chris.
