How far was the town from the pan? They have an airport too, althought flying there would probably be more expensive than going to Europe.
Sounds like fun.

Re: Speed Week Date Poll
I think we just need a rolling date. I think theses days most (maybe not all) racers would have the flexibility to manage a change of date say over a two month window. Set a date that traditionally has the best weather history, then just drop it back week by week till it's a goer. Given we don't hav...

Re: Lake condition and forecast
Ok thanks for that info. I can now see that I could come in via Iron Knob turn off or go down to kimba and turn off towards Buckleboo? Penny says its a bit longer but less dirt. Sounds good to me. I have a 2 x crewman and don't fancy too much bone shaking dirt work. Suppose the signaage is perfect o...

Re: Lake condition and forecast
gentlemen, from emails above am I right to think that there are more than one route to the camp site?
We will be coming via PA, but if that general route is closed is there another way in?

Re: Lake condition and forecast
Yes, nice video. Now there must be plenty of guys with experience of salt lakes that can give us a bet on '12 happening at all now? Is it 50/50 ? 10/90? Is this going to dry out? I don't want to drive all the way to Port Augusta and back again to find out it's off  , there are other things I'...

Re: salt condition speedweek 2012
I hope with all this rain happening over NSW and Qld that we don't have a rerun of 2011!
From memory I think the lake is isolated as far as recieveing water from far off catchments, but with it raining everywhere around Oz almost constantly it is depressing.

A couple of Bike Questions
Just renewing my knowledge of the rule book and noted a couple of points that I may need a refreshemnet on: 7.B.16 Tow Starts: Dead motor tow starts will not be permitted except for Streamliners. This requirement includes designated warm- up areas. Question: I jump start my RS125, does this mean I s...

Re: Pre-entry question.
OK thanks mate. All good advice. I'll fill in another entry despite no changes, except I'm a year older. I'll add a note about having entered last year.
Thanks again.

Pre-entry question.
I didn't request a fund and intend to attemp to get there this time.
So if I'm pre entered as the web site says, do I still have to fill out an entry form?
Regards neil

Re: 2011 Speed Week cancelled
Next year, could I suggest that the Club sets up a system to send out speed week updates by SMS to all members, or race entrants that submit a mobile number? I realise that there are coverage issues during transit, but at lest we could get faster information with little extra effort from club offici...

Other Riders/Drivers
If some other licensed member has a ride/run on my bike do they have to display their Number on the bike or is it OK that they run under the owner's, my number?
Thanks in advance.
