Re: ***YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP***
To any members who are planning to attend the working bee we have had to put a halt to the installation of the waste water treatment plant for this working bee. This is not due to any of the factors mentioned above. We will still have a working bee but not as much to do so if you planned to attend t...

Re: ***YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP***
As of Monday night at our committee meeting only 6 or 7 members had indicated their intention to attend the Working Bee. I am impressed with the response to the request for funds to buy the equipment we need for Speed Week to happen, but the Treatment Plant needs to be installed to get it operating....

Need a (ute) driver.
The Club has had a Ute donated ( thanks Shane ) for use at Speedweek for refueling the generator, tractor etc, but Shane cannot attend this year. The Ute is in Adelaide. So we are looking for someone going to the Lake as a passenger, that could pick up the ute and drive it to Mt Ive for Speedweek. T...

Chris, While at the camp over the xmas break I looked in Kev Savilles hut and found the keys to your EB. They are hanging on the inside of the hut door. Did not try to start it, the instruction sheet was not there. Cheers R ob.

Re: Anyone got a mate in OHIO?
I have a mate in Indianapolis who ships containers from Indy to Melbourne regularly. UPS the parts to him and he can ship them for you to Melb. If Greg's suggestion doesn't work for you maybe this will. I have his email somewhere and phone no. Rob

Re: 2012 Speedeeek Rain Date and other stuff
Had a phone call late this afternoon from Norm Bradshaw. He was working over the border in SA this week, so decided to take a detour to LG before heading home. He left Pt Augusta this morning and was at the lake about 10 am. Walked out on the lake and NO water in sight, not even at the bottom of the...

Re: Return & Fire Roads
Rob, Realstan alerted me to your post and I am replying because he has a problem with his computer. I feel we would need to have a good long think about letting vehicles travel on the west side of the track. I for one would be very concerned about our new (VERY EXPENSIVE) timing equipment, as some o...

Track Condition for Speed Week 2010
I have spoken to Peter Noy and he reports that the lake is hard and dry. No surface water is present and very little salt off the tyres onto the cars. A light scrape is all it needs. They have checked the whole track area and the only part that has a small amount of moisture is near the 0 mile mark,...

Track Marking for 2010
Just been wondering what the members think about having both timed and GPS tracks marked with cones instead of corflute markers this year. By looking at the map of the tracks it shows cones all the way. I asked Rod Hadfield about this and he said cones on the GPS track and corflute from the start of...

Part (or most) of the problem here is that the members that elected themselves to the two track committee at the meeting at Norms in May are not communicating with each other very well nor with the members on the forum. Oldtimer is on this committee and has had no email contact since June. I feel th...

After talking to Lionel West (who drew this plan), as far as I can understand the 0 mile mark will be in the same gps position as it previously was. The 8 mile mark has been moved to the west some, and the track realigned to it. At this time cannot say how much it has been moved as have not seen any...

Digger Marden
Once again I have the sad task of reporting the passing of another of our valued members. Geoffrey "Digger" Marden passed away last Sunday unexpectedly. Most just knew him as Digger or Digby and that he was a great bloke and always there to lend a hand, be it Speed Week or a working bee (o...

Roger Hancox passes
After receiving a telephone call earlier this morning it is with great sadness I need to report that Roger Hancox, member 399 passed away early this morning. Roger had been ill for some time and could not overcome it. For those who did not know Roger, he travelled every March from his home in Auckla...
