Re: Ambulance Cover

Hey Dave, There is no "Ambulance Service" as such that covers the event. I am contracted to provide emergency medical services to the event as a private arrangement with DLRA. In the event that you require transport away from the Lake, either by road or RFDS, that service would be provided...

Re: Condition of lake

Hey all,

I ran into Joy Newton (owner of Mount Ive) in the local roadhouse this morning.

The lake is dry..... very dry.
The road is good, it was graded a few months ago.
They are really looking forward to us getting up there.

Now..... GET BACK TO WORK ON YOUR VEHICLES!

Re: 2017 Satellite Imaging

Hey folks,

That picture is exactly what I saw when I flew the lake yesterday.

The dark blue areas are all standing water, and the rest is dry.

Re: Airborne Recon

Sorry to be late! No pictures, sorry - camera didn't work this time. Much drier that last visit, as expected. Small amount of water north of the islands (The Blue Streak discussed in the Satellie imaging thread), and a small amount of water that would be at the end and to the left of the 3 mile trac...

Re: 2017 Satellite Imaging

Hey folks,

That picture is entirely consistent with what I saw from the air at about the same time. There is certainly a deeper patch running across the Lake at that level.

I'm doing another flight on Wednesday 9th.... I'll go up that far and get some pictures.

Re: Airborne Recon

Hey all,

We have had a big rain band come through in the last 36 hours, with 16mm falling at home so far. Mt Ive, however, has reported only 2.2mm as of 9am this morning.

Next recon flight will be happening on Wednesday 8th. Watch this space!

Airborne Recon

Hey all, The High Viz Racing airborne reconnaissance flights have started again on New Year's Day. We will aim to get up there at least fortnightly, or after significant weather events. Good news - given the recent weather we have had, there was much less water on the Lake than expected. The racing ...

Driving home?

Stop in Wudinna on your way through and see our in-progress car.....

Otherwise - best advise when preparing a car is to read the rule book at least three times.

Have fun!

Re: Speedweek 2016

Pictures in links...... Approaching Lake from DLRA camp About main track 5-6 mile, looking towards canteen About ...
