Re: theTRUTH

That's perfect, even the colour's good :D ! Mine will be much more like Bill Anderson's Weslake lay down sidecar. I can't do a more conventional riding position because I herniated a disc in my neck back in 2012 (sitting in a chair!) and can't lean forward and look up. Even a Ducati Diavel is instan...

Re: theTRUTH

Have you considered a riding position like Dan Gurney's Alligator? With the V8 behind you you could get very low with no difficulty and probably not need the screen to watch.

Re: Phase out of leaded fuel by September 2019.

No Fuel class for pickups doesn't make much sense, surely we could add the class for 2019 or 2020 when the leaded fuel is gone. By the way, I just noticed that the BP servo on Wood Street at Warwick can get 100 octane.

Re: Sub 500 EV

Bob lives in Swan Bay, Newcastle somewhere. He and his crew are all members of the Rickshaws Hot Rod Club. That's the best I can do. Carol Hadfield might have his contact details. If I could comment on your design, two or three things spring to mind. One, put a full canopy over the roll cage, it's f...

Re: Sub 500 EV

Give Earlybird Steel at 31 Trade Street Lytton a call on 3348 7731. They're very helpful. They sell all sorts of steel including cold drawn seamless roll cage tube in two sizes, 38.1mm x 2.6 mm wall and 44.5mm x 2.6mm wall. I'm not sure what our requirements are but if those sizes are legal your pro...

Re: Motorbike Class Methanol & Turbo

My guess is MPS F1350. That's Modified Partial Streamlined Fuel 1350. Note I wrote streamlined, not streamliner, they are completely different things. Look at the hundreds of bike photos from this and previous years for some guidance. You can download the rule book right now from the website. Read t...

Re: 2018 Speed Week

Trouble is, it isn't. That is currently the Black Rock Desert in Nevada when Andy Green broke the sound barrier at 763 mph driving Thrust SSC in 1997. In 1994 Rosco McGlashan did 500 mph at Lake Gairdner, but the record at the time was held by Gary Gabelich driving the Blue Flame at Bonneville in 19...

Re: 2018 Speed Week

Greg, Back in 2014 Scott Andrews, the President of the SCTA, told us how impressed he was with how we did things and told us NOT to copy the way things were at Bonneville. Just imagine what he'd think of it now. Last year Dave Freiburger came back to the pits after his first run in the Camaro and ex...

Oh, I forgot to mention that when Pete flags at Eastern Creek he is treated just as well, so Morgan Park isn't a fluke.

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350

If that rider (I never knew his name) comes back this year he'd better have a stronger bike and leathers that actually fit. Or have lost 20 kg. Animal did have a word to them but as the bike was dead there was no point to any card being issued. If I'd been running a track this year I would have rela...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350

Don't worry, the rookies will be a doddle. Most of them will be as nervous as a tomcat at the vet, so they will do anything you tell them. If any of them complain about waiting remind them that Track 2 can manage about 28 runs an hour if NOTHING goes wrong so they won't have to wait very long. If th...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350

Harky, I just noticed this thread. Have you had a good look at "Hoofhearted's" lay down side car from Bonneville. Bill Anderson is his name. He has his handlebars down low, but there's no obvious reason why they couldn't be a bit higher. Here's a link to a world of thought: https://www.google.com.au...
