We could try this once more, with feeling... set up a time & place in some park or a nearby restaurant in case of bad weather, subject to a consensus of those who are within reasonable range. Prospect is an OK location for me as I'm in the Blue Mts, just wish a bit of detail had been firmed up. ...

Don, the M4 west of SYD is the NSW Police test track. It's a 110 limit 6 laner but it you're doing 110 after 1am, you better be in the far left lane... 'cos the coppers are usually blowing the cobwebs out of their XR8s at 160++ in the right lane with their lights OFF.

Re: two stroke?

I found the whole thing entirely unconvincing, the display engine has no fuel delivery system, no cooling system (as you mentioned) and no exhaust either. I There's some really poor quality videos on the inventor's website which appear to show the engine running on a dyno. If this guy has as much w...

Bloody interesting engine, though I wonder how they're going to cool it. I wonder if there's enough water jacket for all that's going on in a relatively small space compared to a typical piston engine. The inventor's claim about never having to change the oil is downright specious. Says that biodies...

If you can nurse it for a little while, and if you think it will make it to Blacktown, I can help you on the 27th. That is, if you are coming to the meeting. Bring the parts with you, I have the rest. Thanks muchly for the offer, but I'm afraid it's going to die sooner than the 27th. I had to keep ...

Re: How's the Celica going, Dave?

C'mon let's have a blue about front wheel drive. hehehehh... FWD has had some racing applications in the past. My last address before Australia was Indianapolis. The Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum had a copy of a Miller-Ford FWD car from about 1922 on display when I was last there. http://mille...

Need a mecho, W Syd or Blue Mts

I was hauling about 400kg of bags of concrete and mortar up the mountain from the hdwe the other day in the trusty old 1986 HiAce van. Heard my RPMs creeping up (no tacho) while road speed was dropping, mainly in 5th gear. Behaves OK while the thing is unloaded (for now) but it seems to be clutch ti...

Re: Gordon fn G

can someone please make GordonD go away , he has'nt got a clue what our club and what safety represent . Yes, Gordon doesn't understand the need for the rules we've got- but he shouldn't be forcibly shoved out the door (i.e. banned from the forum). He won't learn anything that way. The rules are bo...

Yeah, bolt on a roll cage and a glass body and go race. Save the steel for the streetrod.

Gordon, SCTA & DLRA rules are for racing cars, not passenger cars. Entirely different standards. If passenger cars broke traction at 195mph every time they were driven, they'd have mandatory roll cages too.

If the rules function but to exclude those who won't abide by them, cool.

Don, thanks for the great photos! The wildflowers are amazing. Wonder what that red one is. If you need to resize images, all you need is any image editor- even MS Paint (included with most versions of Winblows) will do it. Check the help file in the application you're using, should be very simple. ...
