Re: It lives

Yep ill take you up on that after Easter?

"A steel extension onto the original arm is not that difficult ! "

Steel extension on alloy arm? I have a spare RGV arm here but as I havnt got the gear or expertise to weld alloy. I thought making a steel one would be the easiest option.

Re: It lives

Went to the steal merchants today and bought some RHS. They didnt have the size that I needed so I bought the next size up. Go home and had a look. Shit, now I need a longer axle. Ill go back after Easter and get the next size down and thicker wall. Going from Alloy to Steel I can safely go down a f...

Re: It lives

A lot of good ideas , thanx guys. I will lower the seat some more and go to "A" , when I do that ill have to extend the swing arm so I can get in there. As I dont have the equipment to extend the ally one I will make a steel one and put the foot pegs on it or cut my legs off, not sure yet. Bones I d...

Re: It lives

Hey Dave, have you got the WRX STI engine for the V yet? You need to make the trailer big enough to get that down to Speed Week? Van has already been modified internally to get the bike in, If the bike was made longer it could still fit its just going to be harder to load and unload. Pete, I forgot ...

Re: It lives

Hey Bones, yep I think A will be the go. The post sticking up out the back of the bike in the pics with me sitting on it is the max length fairing past the rear wheel. If I extend the wheel base I will have trouble getting it into the van, its a struggle as it is, thats why im thinking A instead of ...

Gives me a chance to do some mods to the bike while I look for a job so I can rebuild the engine. After talking to Stuart Hooped , Worlds Fastest Vel...

Re: It lives

Another less than successfully Speed Week. At least I got 3 1/2 runs in this time. Started out very fat with a conservative tune and did a 114 mph run on a 109 record. I couldnt get the bike to rev as soon as I put load on it. Wouldnt rev past 10000, so i leaned it out a bit. Still the same so I add...

Re: It lives

Had a bit of a setback. I tried to get some more flow through my carbys by drilling out the internal fuel supply galleries. Started out at 4mm ended up at 6mm and daylight. So new carby and stopped at 5mm this time. I wanted 1 ltr per minute out of the carb but settles for 900 ml. started at 800. Th...
