Re: motorcycle tyres front & rear

Thanks, Paul.

Incidently, can I get the details for the people who made your leathers? Looking at mine, they're full of perforated panels. Too many to bother having them altered. I'll have to have some made to meet the DLRA spec.

Thanks,
Chris

Re: motorcycle tyres front & rear

Hi The rules that your bike will be scrutineered against are in the rule book. Don't go looking for other "rules" to make your life harder. Cheers jon Fair enough. If it weren't for the fact that the "no front tyres on the rear" thing had been posted by the former chief bike scr...

motorcycle tyres front & rear

Hi there, I'm looking at tyre options for me M/F 100cc bike. My rear rim is a 1.85 x 18 so I wanted to run a 90/90-18 tyre on it. There's not a lot of choice in rear tyres of that size. I read in some other threads that we're not allowed to run front tyres on the rear. But I can't find anything in t...

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014

I'm going to run in the open class (non-streamlined). However, as I'm running an air cooled engine, I'd like to be able to direct airflow to the engine as much as I can within the rules. 7.F.11 Open Class: 1. No streamlining is permitted in the open motorcycle class. Streamlining is defined as any d...

Re: $25 annual fee

I'm wanting to join up this year. The DLRA website indicates that membership is a once off payment of $100 (for life). http://www.dlra.org.au/hb-join.htm http://www.dlra.org.au/hb-member.htm Is the $25 annual fee on top of the $100 or instead of it. Apologies for the newbie question. It's not exactl...

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014

Ordered my V-Force reed block and a manifold to fit the TM32 carb. I was looking at running the TMX34 but the needle jet in those isn't replaceable. Would have to drill it out which would then stuff it if I went too big. Once I work out a baseline for jetting I'll order the carb too. Then the rest o...

Mikuni jetting for methanol

Hi, I'm looking at running a Mikuni TM32 on my M/F 100cc bike. Can anyone suggest some jet sizes to start with for running methanol? Main jet, idle jet, needle jet etc. The carby ships with the following gasoline setup: 250 Main Jet 45 Pilot Jet 389 Q-2 Needle Jet 5FP17 Jet Needle 831-39012 4.0 Thro...

Yep, that's the bike that Paul Carter wrote about near the end of his book "Is That Thing Diesel?"

Did he end up riding it?

Sorry to hear that you've had to postpone, Paul. But stoked that I might get to see the mighty Vespa strut its stuff in 2014.

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014

Thanks Paul. I was planning to run a switch to the heating circuit on it so I could switch it on before I ran the engine. You probably just saved me a sensor. I must owe you a beer next year. :) In my system, the heater control unit has a data link into the Mychron computer. Presumably it does all t...
