Re: 2 strokes a can of worms.

Dave Dont know where ya getting ya specs from. 26 HP LOL ya kidding me? Top speed mag for a 2012 CBR 250R not RR my point was to show that even a 4 stroke with almost double the capacity is still behind the eight ball compaired to a 150 2 stroke. or even if we add in the RR it still proves that the...

Re: 2 strokes a can of worms.

Being the owner of a suzuki 150R only for the asian market itsa single cylinder 4 stroke dohc , this and the equivalent honda are the fastest 4 strokes in that size, I was hoping to bring it here and run in the p/p 175 class ...... but im up against this sort of competition ...a honda NSR150 sp bel...

Re: 2 strokes a can of worms.

Im all ears. What other form of racing places 2 strokes up 2x capacity? Your getting confused with rotaries and piston engines maybe. Double your RPM? 4 stroke 250s already do double what the 2 strokes do. Just go spend some $$ and dont be so tight. OR buy a 2 stroke and enjoy the speed. 8) CATCH U...

Bureaucracy gone mad. If they had even the slightest shred of motorcycling curiosity in them, they'd have wanted to see how the thing went.

I worry about my kids' future when I see these idiots running things.

Joyless morons.

Re: BIKE WEEK/CAR WEEK

More is always better. :) We're waiting all year for it. We're coming from a long way away. What's a couple of extra days once we're already there? And on that note, I don't mind paying a bit extra if it provides timing equipment that would enable another track to run. This is costing me thousands j...

Re: Speedweek 2014

Thanks, Gary.

26 hours? It's about 1,600 kms. I know the last 150kms or so is dirt but ... seems a long time.

I was planning to leave about the same as you, Thursday morning bright and early. But if they need more hands to set up earlier than that, I could go earlier.

Re: Speedweek 2014

Is there a thread around here for registering interest to do a bit of volunteering for 2014? I'd like to spend a couple of days helping out before I go racing. Seems the club needs all the hands they can get during the week. I can leave my racing until later in the week when it's hopefully a bit qui...

Re: 2 strokes a can of worms.

Air cooled engines, whether 2 stroke or 4 stroke, cannot produce the same amount of sustained power as their water cooled counterparts. Especially the way we run them (wide open for sustained periods). So, by the logic of previous posts, we should create separate classes for air cooled v water coole...

Re: Let's go string up Animal

I'm a newbie here and haven't attended a speed week yet. I've raced a bit with other clubs on circuits. So you can take my comments with as much salt as you like. To me, the characters who are passionate about the sport are something special. This is not a corporation where OH & S and political ...

Re: Speedweek 2014

I drank more water than beer, first time for everything. Im not trying to be 10 ft tall and bullet proof but there must have been a reason for Bridgee's unfortunate condition or more people would have been affected by dehydration? An extract from "our rules" "Land Speed Racin...

Re: motorcycle tyres front & rear

Grumm, thanks for the Avon link. Looks like that's the answer. As for leathers ... My leathers have extensive perforations. It's not just a few little bits here and there. Most of the front of them is perforated to maximize comfort and (in my opinion) safety. Given that we're racing in the desert, I...

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014

I just received a couple of custom made sprockets from http://shop.pbisprockets.com/main.sc . I only ordered them last Wednesday. I have them now. They're in Oregon, USA. I am not (Canberra). Wow. They were courteous, helpful and knew their stuff. I cannot recommend them highly enough if you're in t...

Thank you gentlemen. Gives me time to sell my current suit. Never worn (except to try them on). Spewing.
