Re: 125cc 2stroke special construction
Hey Carbon Check with Graham Hadley ( head Bike inspector) about the carbon frame. He might like some stress analysis on it to prove it's strength. Most of us can look at a tube frame and have a good idea about strength. Carbon looks cool but I know nothing about it structurally. Don't worry about t...

Re: 125cc 2stroke special construction
Hi Carbon Check my buid diary universal chassis- with the yz80 or tz350 45 is not necessary. 30 is plenty. The important thing is to have some trail. My Hayabusa engined bike is 30deg rake with Kawasaki zx10 tripple clamps. It's stable as at 205 I think rake more than 30deg is bs Weight will not be ...

Re: It lives
Dave I've always used a gasket or 'o' ring and if the manifolds are a bit old and all of mine are, just a smear of Locktite 515 and all is good. Maybe something is not flat. Hopefully Alex will come next year and ride his APS bike with the RS125 in it. I went through some old posts and you (I think)...

Hey Dave
I've never heard of doing this.
Did you plug the exhaust ports?
Does the engine use a lab seal between the crank cases?
Where did it leak?
cheers Bones

Green is never as fast as RED---- I proved it
I've been thinking about putting my TZ250 A into my Universal Chassis
Pete-- You keep making improvements on the aero but a lower frame I think would be a huge improvement
cheers Bones

Re: Record Updates
Thanx for the reply I thought a typo. The speed on the A-PF bike does not matter to me- no record-. But it should be taken out of the results. I did have 2 runs on Thursday on the A-G bike, but had problems and pulled off before I got to the timers.-- so no time should be recorded I did fill out a R...

Re: Record Updates
Here we are again I started this post to try and get the motorcycle records straightened out in 2012. I will add a couple more which are incorrect-- 2015- rider 444 A-PF 1350 - 179.991. Should be 125 ish 2013- rider 444 APS-G 500 128.03 Should not exist. I rode A-G 350 that year. The certificates ar...

Re: Crosswinds
Lynchy I think the timing van should be kept where it is-- they are also needed as spotters. I got into trouble twice this year for pulling off the track TOO soon. Both times the bike had a problem around the 1 mile I was able to get off the track well clear of the tender vehicle road. One time I wa...

Re: Gifts to you know who in 2015
Dave Shell M is good -- castor base 20:1 should be fine. I run all my engines at 20:1 castrol 747 and petrol. Maybe a richer needle? Alcohol wont loose power if it's a little rich but will detonate if lean. Lots of guys use alcohol in yamaha air cooled road racers so I would think part throttle shou...

Re: Crosswinds
Dave, A quick look at the rules reveals the canopy must be able to be opened from inside AND outside without tools I think that introducing a HINGE into the chassis is no good-- it's taking away strength and rigidity. But a movable frame with the handlebars or steering wheel is good and often used. ...
