Re: SATA - SALT ATTACK 2013 OFFICIALLY CANCELLED

That Lake is a harsh Mistress. Damn good try fellas. Chris Thanks Chris, If not for nature's intervention the meet would have gone ahead as we have the commitment from racers to support such an event. The backroom work done in preparing for Salt Attack 2013 has prepared us for future events of this...

SATA - SALT ATTACK 2013 OFFICIALLY CANCELLED

IMPORTANT ANNOUNCEMENT SATA Salt Attack 2013 is cancelled for this year. There is not an alternative "Rain Date" for the event. This decision is due to the lake surface still being very wet and the current weather patterns not helping with evaporation of the water. Given that there only 9...

Re: What are you Planning???

It looks great Cookey :D what is that engine? Pete Pete, The engine in the car is a 1955 Chrysler 301 cube Windsor block with '55 Hemi heads fitted. The 301 is a "square" engine with the bore & stroke identical. Greg, I have 6 early Hemi engines, all were imported by myself from Washi...

Quote from TurboSmart's online article: "With the Australian Landspeed Record under his belt, Trevor Slaughter is one step closer to achieving his lifetime goal – the World Landspeed Record. Driving his Turbosmart-equipped Streamliner at South Australia’s Lake Gairdner, Trevor hit 408mph (656kp...

Re: Woomera1 - Glen Davis (Wheel Driven Land Speed Record)

Re: 2013 Speed Week

Very interesting stat's Greg. I found that aside from the incidents and accidents that caused major hold ups this year we had an abnormal amount of (for me as timer) delays between when we called "course clear" and when the next runner left the start line. No reflection on the starters but...

Re: Are we RACERS or Politicians

The other important reason that the Timing Van is on the opposite side of the course and away from everybody is to prevent interruptions from people coming by to get results etc. The new equipment can be set up by one person if need be and we only need a maximum of 3 people in the timing van when ra...

Re: Are we RACERS or Politicians

John, You have just HIT THE NAIL ON THE HEAD when you commented that "It is no longer fun." Whilst I have not made the financial commitment that you have made in your racer, I have none the less over the past few years accumulated components that hopefully would have put a bellytank lakest...
