Re: 650cc and a 50 thou oversize

Rob If its a 500 sv now, you can run it in the 350cc class. 500cc minus 33 1/3% = 333cc. It would seem, going by our current rules, that you could bore it out .050" and still run in the 350cc class?? as the over bore is ignored on oem vintage barrels. However if I'm reading the new SCTA rule co...

Re: 650cc and a 50 thou oversize

Rob On a vintage class engine you can have up to .050" oversize and it will still be considered a std bore. This is because most vintage blocks/cylinders have already been bored once or twice (or even more) and as new replacements may be unobtainable it means you don't have to resleeve back to ...

G'day Rob

Everyone seems to have answered your questions already so I'll just say hello.
Be good to have another Vintage class bike running.

Re: 2013 Speed Week

Except the map in the program showed 3 return roads from the GPS track on the left, the same as the track lay out on the website, but there was only one return road on the right. Though it does say the track layout may vary, therefore the final track layout really does have to be done at the lake on...

Re: 2 strokes a can of worms.

Not that it matters a great deal to me because I'm only ever going to run Pushrod Triumph twins, whether they're competitive or not, anyway. But I think the idea of trying to equalise different engines through capacity handicaps is stupid. We already have the `Side valves get a 33 1/3 displacement a...

Re: Speedweek 2014

Gee, what have I done. I was just asking about a date for next year. :D For what its worth here are my thoughts on the various points raised here and just because I did something, doesn't mean I think everyone else should. I'm all for being given the options and do what best suits you. Pete is right...

Re: Speedweek 2014

I'm one of those weird people who quite like the hot weather, its so much better than being cold. :D However I must admit it was a bit warm on the Monday and after helping out on the GPS start line until about 2.00pm, I elected to spend the rest of the afternoon sitting in the shade in the pits inst...

Re: Rain

Up to 7mm now and the radar is showing the lake is probably getting the same.
Would be interesting to see if there's any sign left of speedweek activity on the salt by next week?
