Norm at Aussie Desert Coolers made a great Radiator for my turbo busa which I subsequently fitted a Craigs and Davies electric pump to. The whole set-up has given me the most consistent cooling yet. You will need to slightly modify the thermostat - drill a hole in it.

Thanks for the support guys Managed to escape Wendover for a few days between events and headed down through Zion and Grand Canyon then onto Vegas before returning to Bonneville for WOS It was a good idea to go to both the BUB and WOS as the events are run very differently. The WOS event ran like a ...

Well folks I'm past the point of no return now as the bike is on the water. The shipping came to $1,760 AUD delivered to Mike Ackatiff's yard in San Jose California. Entry port is Oakland. Will cost around the same for return The costs for FIM entry added up because of the insurance - $750, licence ...

$5k is pricey alright and contains heaps of port handling costs . Some of these can be reduced by organising delivery to and from port at each end. The cost for a 20' container for the same journey would be just less than $10k all up so worth getting a few racers together for next year which reduce ...

Good advice gents, definately the best option to go through the port at Oakland. Any option that reduces the cost is a good one as far as Im concerned. Looks like I may be shipping on my own so will need to make up a crate to keep the bike safe and sound while in transit. Received the ERC fuel this ...

Thanks for the info Graeme - a lot of good points there. If we dont get enough bikes to fill the container then the crate option is always there.
Shame you couldnt make it :( - Im sure this wont be the last time we go so maybe next year will be an option.

Cheers Richard

I know what your saying - if it ends up with just the 2 bikes then the crate option would be far cheaper. Plenty of time left to convince a few I reckon

Great idea Jim,

I will get shipping quotes for Melb to SF asap. We may need somewhere to park the container in SF - I will ask my shippers at this end as they may have a site there already

We are looking at a 20' at this stage which should get 8 bikes in plus gear.
If you want to run for FIM records you need to get a licence - Motorcycles Australia have the forms and details - http://www.fim.ch/en/fmn/www.ma.org.au

Fuel specs from ERC http://www.ercracingfuels.com/

Ship will need to leave mid july

Bikes for Bonneville 2007

Folks Just because the lake was wisely closed this year for racing its not the end of the world. There is always bonneville to fill the gap in 6 months time. I am interested in anyone keen to join me in taking a few bikes over for the BUB and World of Speed events - the first 2 weeks of September. T...
