Hmmm. Illegal green laser. A dark fuzzy shot of Al Fountains machine...

A few photos at night in a spooky salt lake environment and I reckon we could work up a seriously good looking UFO landing.

Close Encounter of the Fast Kind...

Hand held GPS units are scrambled to a degree and will not be accurate enough to give a good line. GPS hasn't been scrambled since 2001 but is still only accurate to +/- 3 metres (if you want to know ask a geocacher) which can be improved upon by the use of a ground based differential GPS transmitt...

330 runs divided by 130 competitors equals an average of 2.5 runs for the week or one run every 2 days That's a little misleading. We didn't start racing until mid/late Tuesday afternoon. That means we only raced for about 2.75 days. Furthermore there were quite a number of people - particularly bi...

Re: again

Simultaneous runs are not "extremely foolish", with a one mile separation anyone could share the tracks safely. David, Reread my response. You can't safely put rescue or medical personell on the track or perform the necessary chase role performed by Southern Rescue for fast fire response ...

Hi David, I came in 06 and helped out in the end as a Paramedic. Since then I've joined the club and did most of my week this year as an Assistant Starter, wrist band nazi & spent some time in the merchandise van with Carol & Rod when I wasn't hanging around in the Silverton pit. I got a lot...

Last time I went I took the longest tekscrews I could get. About 150mm long. I found the few I had left today while packing. Having never been before I was thinking there was a risk anything shorter would pull out. What was I thinking? The 18volt cordless stalled out with most of the screw still out...

We're booked in to the Big 4 for Saturday night now and will get there earlier than originally anticipated on Sunday.

If there are any setup jobs Sunday arvo that I can give a hand with eg. timing gear etc (no soldering irons.... ) I'd be happy to.

Lynchy, If you blokes have room for a couple or 3 Vic ambos with a bent for cars and prepared to look after the old blokes wheel chair we'd be more than happy to help out. I've already offered to Rob C that if they are in need of extra hands in any way I'm happy to help. I loved being involved last ...

Whiting & chips and desert was about $17. As long as I don't need to bring my soldering iron, solder and heatshrink this year I'll be happy. Tekscrews and ply washers for pegging down shade guy ropes and a cordless drill with a couple of charged batteries are a must. I'll be packing a more compr...
