Road to Bonneville DVD

Not sure if this will ease the pain, or (pardon the pun) rub salt into the wounds of you guys that were planning on going to the salt this year. A bloke on the HAMB has made a movie about a couple of 'Rolling Bones' cars that made the trip from New York to B'ville last year. Some awesome footage and...

I was one of the people who had to cancel flights the night before we were due to leave last year. Although I couldn't make it this year, so I'm not really affected, it's much less painful being called off a month out than a day or two before. I guess anything can happen, but it doesn't look like th...

PISS OFF GORDY!!!

Clearly you don't 'get it' so please don't bother us any more...

Stovebolt - If you want to race it on the salt, take it there and I'm sure they'll find a class for you.

In regards to fenders, don't cycle fenders and bobbed rear fenders count?

I heard that as well, not just a low CD, but also designed to have zero lift (very handy).

Stuff a proper motor in it, I'm thinking mid-mounted Hemi, then it could be a real good car!

So wouldn't it only be a 4800km round trip for you then, Jon? ;)

Aerodynamically, a tube axle would be much better than an I-beam, Pete. Check the rules, but I'm pretty sure you can run either. In regards to a 200mph roadster and street reg... let's just say it would be a challenge! Apart from the fact you'd have to go through rego after each engine change, the s...

Not too many guys from WA have actually raced. There's the Narrogin Revheads guys, but they run a production class. Best option might be to get hold of Phil Medlin. He drove and raced his '27 T-roadster back in 2004(?), and drove it home. He was going this year and had done a fair bit to the roadste...

Part of the reason the race cars went with the monocoque was for weight saving.

Of course, we all know that: "Weight is our friend." :)

Thanks for the report, guys. Much appreciated.

I figured you would have done everything possible before canning it. After all, you wanted to race as much as anyone else!

Hopefully we'll be there for next year! :)
