Hi Gazza , Few "race" tyres have a rating 'cause they don't have a guarantee ,I know I can use Frontrunners , they come out of the same mould as Landspeeds but these , well , these is different they is ..... The usual speed rating is over an hour is it not ? ie: "the tyre will resist failure for one...

Just noticed on the front tyres I had delivered that the usual bit about highway use said "for DRAG racing only"....any comments? have they been OK'd for the salt ?...it'd be a front bottom if they weren't 'cause they won't fit on the wheelbarrow and I can't put 'em on the trailer...I think I've see...

Rules?
Hi Gordon Something about this thread got my old billy and missed the spirit of what I've enjoyed on the lake the last few years .All motor racing needs rules to keep it competitive and SAFE . The best thing about the salt is the solo aspect , the science that helps people go faster is the same for ...

The Age web-site and video footage
Hi All The "footage" from the Age website is actually stills....at times it looks like video but the effect is from panning over photo's , there isn't anything moving in the shots if you look closely ...I had little to do with the final production of it , I did the sound recordings and took photo's....

Dear Reverend Headgash If it's a record it's a record...I think that situation occurred with Grant Schlein and Garry Peterson in 2004 both set P/P 1350 records over 200 Grant first , then Gary so at the end of the week Gary held the record and they were both in the 200 club....I could of course have...

Hi Trevor Here's a web address for a couple of pages featuring comments from Tom Burkland on the subject of cockpit design but more particularly on the importance of getting your centre of pressure behind your centre of gravity ...so you can see where you're going instead of where you've been....rea...

Thanks Gooza The idea was to make the parts unique to what we need ( der ) to use an M20 Aussie 4 speed ...we can get shafts for bugger all , there may be a way of leaving a gear out in order to machine the shaft down but I haven't done the homework on that yet so as far as full stress analysis it's...

We've just gone ahead with it , no-one stuck their head up and said hell no! so we just did it....The only problem that I can forsee at the moment is that the mainshaft now has no stress relieving narrow waist anymore.....meaning that the spline could well be the weakest part of the shaft .....added...

..........pumping losses and also the "smoothing" of the vertical face of the actual rim(that which faces forward)..they definitely have bling value but on wheels with a decent off-set they must have an effect on cleaning up flow simply because the surface area of the wheel is reduced.Later producti...

Hey Gazza The Darwin idea is a nice one but sadly I think there are too many rules (with safety in mind) for true natural selection to take place ...plus we'll need some heavy duty predators to take out the slow movers('cause they're never gonna hurt themselves)....as for random mutations...do I nee...

Hi Norm , just another thing , I noticed you suggested the use of bal, bal, bal..........I can only assume that means Balancing , Ballast and Balls!!....BTW you're part of the "six in a row , way to go " push .I've always had 'em but this time I think we're gonna have to go with something like " two...
