Eugene couldn't understand why the new aero package he bought on eBay hadn't improved his fuel consumption as promised.

Re: which fuels are legal
I would also like to know. I will be doing the final engine set up soon and like Dave I run a 2 stroke and I want to run a Race Type Fuel. There was some discussion about this when the new rule book was adopted as Event Fuel was mentioned. http://www.dlra.org.au/forum/viewtopic.php?f=8&t=1632&a...

Re: Classic classes
I reckon it's a good idea to have a class for air cooled engines as they obviously have disadvantages when compared with water cooled engines but by the same token, we don't want to make a new class for every vehicle that's a bit different. We'd end up with a thousand classes. The line does have to ...

Re: Classic classes
Interesting. So these are 4 stroke only classes ?? This one confuses me a little. 7.D.4.15 Classic Gas / Fuel (CG) and (CF): Any air cooled motorcycle engine manufactured between 1956 and 1986 inclusively. Extensive design and modification of engine allowed. Alteration of cooling fin design...

Classic classes
I've been looking around over at landracing.com and it seems that the LTA is creating some new classes for classic bikes. Is this something the DLRA is likely to consider? I think they are specific to the LTA at the moment. I've quoted the details from landracing.com below. http://www.landracing.com...

Chris, check the rules-- because you are using a 100 angine in a 175 frame I think you will be in special construction. I think the bike must use the original frame and motor to be in modified Tuck your nuts up and be as low as possible . cheers Bones Modified Production rules say: • Frames shall b...

According to the DLRA website for Speedweek 2009 http://www.dlra.org.au/2009.htm :
That is #391 Steven Barnett and his 1972 Suzuki GT 750 running in MPS-G750.
He recorded four runs:
150.627mph
128.241mph
150.725mph

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014
Hi Bones, Yep, the DLRA record is open at the moment. I'm running in modified production class so I'm a little unsure how much I can modify the frame before it becomes a special build. I know I could lengthen the swingarm by up to 10%. I suppose the overall height of the thing is a tradeoff between ...

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014
Thanks, Grumm. I will definitely be sticking with the forks. Just going to lose the rear shocks and replace with solid struts. After having thought more about RGV's comments on the front brake, I'm going to lose that too. At this rate, the thing will be so light I'll probably have to put ballast on ...

Hey Dan,
I'm new here too. I think you and I frequent another bike related forum.
Not so much traffic on this one but there does seem to be some good know-how on how to go very fast in these parts.
Enjoy,
Chris

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014
I guess it would let me run the bike lower to the ground if I didn't have to allow clearance for suspension travel. Would still run the forks on the front but perhaps spring them harder and shorter.
More to think about .......

Re: Greetings - 100cc M/F for 2014
Here's another question for those of you that have raced on the salt. Suspension. Is it really necessary? How smooth is the surface? Anybody running hard tail rear ends? How much suspension travel is usually required? I read somewhere that it feels really smooth at ludicrous speeds but what about 10...
