Maybe the scrutineering scene in the World's Fastest Indian movie has created bad ideas for people.
From a couple of posts on here it sounds like a couple of bad precedents may have been set at speedweek. Although that's only hearsay.

Mystery lakester
Did this car make a run at speedweek?
What's the goss. Looks like the numbers are climbing in the lakester/streamliner classes.

Thrust SSC ran 2 fronts and 2 in-line rears didn't it? so if you get a couple of big a#$e turbines....... oh hang on can't run thrust cars at speed week. What about 2 fixed front wheels on a swing arm and rear steer? Although packaging the steering around the engine could prove tricky. Back to my ho...

The Harris Family in New Zealand (current owners of the C/GR record) were planning on going in '08 to race B/GR for the 60th anniversary.
I'm not sure if their plans are still on track.
And then there's these guys

Re: top fuellers
nitro-nige have you ever worked out how many times a fuel motor turns for a run i think it is around 470. That's what I was getting at. Making lots of power is easy compared to making a very powerful engine last at full noise for a long time. We were discussing ski boat motors at the weekend and ho...

Would be interesting to put any of those motors into a car that is set up for salt lake racing, although the amount of specialised work that goes into them to make them perform on a dyno is a separate field unto itself and requires a fair bit of cleverness. I agree it would be interesting. I'd like...

Hey Don I'm aware of a few Asian engine options in the mid range classes. Some engineered to hell and back (6 bolt mains, forged cranks etc). My question was more out of interest as I've heard of quite a few teams running E class SBC. The smallest factory SBC I'm aware of was the original, the 265. ...

258 Ci SBC
Hi I've read in a few places about guys running 258ci smalll block chevs in E class. The Wilson & Waters Gas Roadster is one that comes to mind. Does anyone know what bore & stroke they run? I've heard I've guys taking a piston out of a 283 (7/8 x 283 = 248ci). The easy alternative down unde...
