Re: Speed Week 2021 Update
Hi Greg, Do you know if the pilots will be flying to and fro from Port Augusta this year? And/or what their contact details are? My 5th day in SA will be on the Wednesday ... which means I'll either have to go into Port Augusta or put off the second test until day 7 ... not sure how the authorities ...

Re: theTRUTH
Hi Guys, Fairing update. I tried making a paper pattern from the wire buck, but it wasnt really that helpful ... and I ended up over developing the shape (it's amazing how little curvature there is in some seemingly quite curvy looking designs). So I used masking tape and fibreglass reinforced tape ...

Re: theTRUTH
Hi All, Six weeks to go aye! It's all a bit surreal, but like Greg says, if we don't plan for the best we might end up under prepared ... so with that in mind, I've started the new fairing ... It's really just an update to the nose part to address aerodynamic (imagined) and quality (obvious as I've ...

Re: theTRUTH
Hi Guys, Been a while between drinks ... not much to do on the racebike for 2021; finishing off the clutch actuation system was critical, and I'll probably remake the upper fairing because it looks a little rough now I've had a year to look at it and improve my skills ... Actuating the clutch was on...

Re: Speed Week 2021 Update
Hi, I've just seen the block on NSW travelers has been revised (14th Jan 2020, https://www.covid-19.sa.gov.au/restrictions-and-responsibilities/travel-restrictions#sa , it now only applies to residents of the greater Sydney region, Wollongong LGA and Central Coast LGA. I'm from Newcastle so it looks...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350
Hey Harky, Yeah, we are definitely up the top end of the ladder ... plenty of others here to keep us company though. It occured to me one of the (many) advantages of feet forward is being able to use your body as streamlining. This is kind of the pose I meant: http://www.russelllowe.com/DLRA/Harky/K...

Re: Honda MG & MF 750
Hi Johno, I wondered why they didn't have anything listed on their site any more ... there was mention of it at the top of one page, but no actual product info further down the page as they did with the other ignition products. It was a pretty expensive system, so pretty disappointing that the after...

Re: Honda MG & MF 750
Hi Johno, Fuel flow tests sounds good, I switched to two separate outlets on the custom tank I built just to be sure. Here's a pic from Bonneville 2014 for your viewing pleasure ... she was an unrefined beast! http://www.russelllowe.com/DLRA/CB750/CB750_Bonneville_2014.jpg My Dyna setup was new in 2...

Re: Honda MG & MF 750
Hi Johnno, I have an optical digital ignition and a car type coil for the SOHC CB750 ... I put my Dynotek in the bin after a brand new setup started to fail and then failed completely over two years at Bonneville. Happy to send it to you to try out if you like. I also found that when one side of the...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350
Hey Harky, Quick thought, will make a model tomorrow to see if it may work, but how about sliding your ass forward, shoulders drop, knees up and use your shins as wind deflectors; like a baby in a womb ... Would necessitate shifting your steering forward, and be one further step up the queerness lad...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350
Ha! Yeah, been a bit quiet alright ... big changes at work, might free up some time in the near future if things work out. Yeah, the 181mph on my beastie was at half throttle, any more than that and it felt like I was gonna blow off the thing. No bum rest and footpegs too far forward to really use m...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350
Great pics Harky!
Have you considered a wee wind deflector to take the pressure off your chest/shoulders or uplift on your helmet (wind getting under the chin might be what Ronni is referring to).
Cheers!

Re: theTRUTH
Hi Y.B. Thanks for the info, I chose -3AN guided by the fitting that came with the hydraulic slave cylinder from Quartermaster. The advantage of my new hydraulic jack master cylinder is that it can move as much fluid as the jacks fluid reservoir can hold ... which is quite a bit more than usual ... ...

Re: theTRUTH
Hi Guys, Well, it works ... but put up a bit of a fight! Would have been easier if I actually knew how hydraulics worked. The first thing I tried was simply welding on a "fitting" to the end nut that holds the reservoir on as well as guiding the end of the ram. It wasn't very nice steel to...

Re: theTRUTH
Hi Guys, I'm still not happy with my clutch actuation ... the cheapy 12v electric scissor jack motor and gear worked, but was too slow - about 4 second to fully lock up, but another 16 seconds to release completely. I think it would have been ok for this year, but I wanted a faster acting solution. ...
