Re: 2012 Speed Week T-Shirts

Funny, nobody else has complained about paying full price for 2012 shirts, I have sold dozens of them myself, let alone all the other sales around Australia . Members are only too happy to support the club. Get over it mate !.

Greg, The Gursansky's ran a Datsun 1200 ute. Ray Tully ran an HD Holden . I will look further into my archives & try to answer more of these mysteries of the past. Pete Noy DLRA #6

Re: Review of 1990

Greg, I ran an HD Holden in E/Pro, (although my certificate says E/Gas). Peter Andrew ran a trail bike of some sort, so P/P would be right. Steve Watts drove a ute, can't remember if it was Holden or Falcon, will research that further. Pete Noy DLRA #6.

Re: Review of 1993

Manfred Lindmayer ran a Pontiac Firebird, same model as in Smokey & the Bandit . Ray Tully ran an HD Holden in '93, I ran an XY Falcon that year in the same class. Mick Zachilow & Glynn Pierce both also drove Ray's car. Paul Greaves & Jeremy Nunn did share the roadster. With our limited ...

Re: Revisiting alternate sites

The reference to Tailem Bend T&Ts by Mr. Leikvold is nothing to do with the organizers of these events. Just thought i would mention that in case anyone thought he was pushing to get entries there instead of Omeo. I will be traveling 14 hours plus to get there & if we only get a couple of ru...

Re: Revisiting alternate sites

WTF ???? Invitation only ? Fastest & best looking ? We are not there for the spectators, we are there to race. Great way to divide the club! Methinks someone has lost the plot again! Don't worry RGV, you don't need to be shiny or fast to run to run at Tailem Bend. Pete . DLRA #6.

All this scientific stuff & it all comes back to good old vinegar! (not bad with a drop of orange juice to take the bite away !).

Re: Lake Inspections 2012

I have been on the lake every year since 1990 (often 3 times a year) but have never really studied it as we have in the past 6 weeks. I personally have learned a lot & it was worth the trips up there. The biggest plus to come out of these trips was meeting with two of the traditional owners. I c...

Re: Lake Inspections 2012

The reason for waiting another 24 hours is, after today's inspection a band of rain came through & dumped on the lake. Due to the surface being so solid in the area picked for the track, a little rain should'nt be a problem. The guys just want to monitor it to be 100% sure. Pete . DLRA #6.

Re: washing vehicles prior to entry onto salt

I am guessing it is about 50/50 as to who stays where. The difference is, the DLRA camp has hot rain water showers, Ladies & mens toilets, power,& a cold room to store perishables. (The "table of knowledge" is also situated there, which is something to behold, but that is another s...

Re: washing vehicles prior to entry onto salt

Under no circumstances are vehicles to be washed with water before going onto the lake. This is what contributes to the ramp area getting mushy. Club owned leaf blowers are placed at the lake's entrance to blow dust from vehicles. If you have one, bring it along, it will speed things up. ALL vehicle...
