Re: Trent Clare
That is good news and very reassuring. The recovery from a brain injury can be a very long process and progress can be very slow. It sounds like Trent is very motivated and is moving forward really well. I have a brother with a brain injury from an accident 11 years ago and even now he continues to ...

Re: DLRA May General Meeting - Victoria
I'm an apology as well. More medical stuff coming up too soon to travel. Would have loved a trip to Melbourne otherwise!!

Re: Lake Condition for March 2015
Dave Yeah, I agree with Chris. Make 2 tracks work well + there aren't enough people willing to help to get a third running. BTW - the surveyor had marked up a track beside the operational track as we had requested. The additional markers making it easier to flop if we had to. Last time we had to use...

Re: Lake Condition for March 2015
Dave Probably not a good idea to consider partially using a track or flopping a track until investigation occurred. A spin out could destroy markings or add to them. Best to shut that track down. Spoke to your brother today. We're all getting together in just over a week to review improvements that ...

Re: Lake Condition for March 2015
You're both wrong - It's Track 1 and Track 2
Track 1 has the option of short course and long course
Track 2 is just short course

Re: DLRA Life Membership / Hall of Fame
I think Greg was looking for discussion as to what the criteria should be for life membership if it is voted in at a proper meeting. I don't think he was looking for nominations and voting (although I agree with his nomination). As per my previous post I think it should be based on the contribution ...

Re: Crosswinds
Animal As I outlined above, the Starter still needs to call out the vehicle number and what the vehicle is doing (long course / short course / licence etc) after the vehicle leaves the line. This doesn't change. Re lights at the 1 mile mark - technically difficult and of little benefit. The course i...

Re: Crosswinds
Cookey You raise some good points and have some good ideas which I will include into my list. This discussion ended up here in response to talk about getting a weather station - If we do get one it needs to work in with the timing system so that weather data is saved with the run info. We had discus...

Re: Crosswinds
Dave Read the post... speeds to be read out over UHF Ch10 not the Track 1 radio channel. Any other queries to the timers over ch 10 - that way we can ignore them till we are ready. ;-) Networking the lake and linking computers is a secondary project to all those that are there to speed things up. Ni...

Re: Crosswinds
I wanted to avoid a long discussion on the forum as typing it all takes a lot of time. My ideas re speeding up runs and reducing radio chatter along with correct data being input are along these lines: Move the timing van to the start line - this allows the starters assistants to walk over with a pa...
