If I was you I'd fire your mechanic Ronnie. I had the same problem with the fool who assembles my motor--assumed something instead of checking. I'd cut his pay but that would have me making negative numbers--- Any of you lot still thinking of a trip to Bonneville? My brother just bought the biggest ...

Ben,don't get me started on that idiotic "all leather" rule. It was a total over reaction to an imagined problem. The one person burned was actually burned from steam when his sweat was heated up from hot oil on his leathers. No fire, cloth panels, perforations,or any of that. IIRC he had non...

Dave, nobody I have any knowledge of runs drag slicks, and not sure if they are car or bike tires re the frontrunners, just remember seeing them on a few of the altered bikes shooting for 250+ --not that any of em have done it yet. Dave, alot of guys(Altered classes, mostly) in the states use a Goodyear frontrunner type tire for the high speed stuff--might be able to find one in 18".
But Noonan,Amo and all the rest of the motorcycle guys running fast at Bonneville are all on street tires.

Actually,Gary--if I was running under SCTA rules instead of the Bub's meet they would be.It is next year I will be "outside the law" as I will have S&S cases.
You and your bike are welcome anytime.
A couple of passes yesterday finally.Running too fat but put down 185 HP.Rejet today.

Hey,Gary,Wayne,Dave,Ronnie, and the rest of you lot, got the bikes ready to go and packing gear ensues. Will be heading for Bonneville on saturday early to get set-up. Spent friday last in dyno room with another of my friend's getting his turbo Gix 1000 dialed in. He was happy with the 340 HP we saw...

Ronnie, see if it's cheaper to have container shipped to west coast port such as Oakland or Alameda or even San Francisco. It's only 1/2 a days drive on freeway all the way to Wendover. I would be happy to help out as it's home territory for me.

Ev,thanks for the updates, good to hear Bones is getting well. Tell him I said to get rid of those scary old multi-piece wheels.Scared me just looking at them A disaster waiting to happen IMHO,especially if you are planning on more HP and speed.

We just needed a bit more duct tape on Ronnie and his bike and he would have been MUCH faster.
It was a real pleasure meeting you, Ronnie, and watching the steady improvements you made on each run.And of course, the look on your face when you went 204--- 8)
