Re: ELECTRIC BIKES / OMEGA CLASS

Yes Gaz
They have a common sense and fair system that has been worked out over time.
Their advantage over us seems to be that they have specialist commitees for many classes in the rule book. They will always beat us with numbers of available people but we as always can improvise.

Bilpa Morea Claypan

Our team members have put considerable research into a new alternate race venue. It is a place called the Bilpea Claypan in Qld. It is reputed to be the largest claypan on the planet. The surface when dry has a soft crust for about half an inch thick with a firm base. The locals have tested it and y...

The grid umberella
Reminds me of when of when Dennis Manning was out and I met some of the crew, this young lady was holding a brollie and I asked why she was out here. She said she answered an add and was employed to come to Australia and hold an umbrella. Your only 5% there Gaz

Re: ELECTRIC BIKES / OMEGA CLASS

Perhaps we can follow the SCTA example as to new class submissions and introduction of new classes. This will eventually see us diverge again.

Re: Mals Effie project

Heh Grumm, old rule. Never ask a question unless you already know the answer. Well Mal's Effie made it against the odds, we got to Orroroo before we got the news. After a 7 month build from a clean sheet the only thing we had left was an FEA and we were ready to race. Bloody thing made more p...

Re: Well Well Well

Ben
I've been there every year since 99 and the entry is different each time, sometimes more than others. I don't think we should worry.

Re: Motorcycle records

Stay'ie the entire records section is in a mess. My ute has totally disappearred from the record books entirely and I'm sure I'm not alone. Like you I thought there's always next year but if I run a different class well my record is lost. So when I get back home I plan to find all my certificates, s...

Re: Clare / Jenkins interview on ABC radio

Gotta hunt for the link look in the sport section. Trevor Clair is the bloke that handed us the bad news the meeting was cancelled as we rolled into Orroroo in SA. He, like us was loaded for bear and ready, the disappointment was palpable. God knows we must be the the most optimistic persistant bast...

Re: Lake condition as at Dec.27th

Just got back to Brissie and our plan was to leave Thursday early. Tennant creek did't have any further rain up till when I left Tuesday at 3.00pm. Roads should be all sweet from the Territory if no further rain up there. We have had several team delays so still plan to make it for Sunday at the lat...

Re: Lake condition as at Dec.27th

Road north and south of Tennant Creek is currantly cut for those coming down from the top end. They are allowing limited high 4WD and trucks through. The forcast till the end of the week is grim. I may have to fly out via Darwin Thursday unless it reopens.

Re: The new Pre Stage

The technology is plainly there, we as a club need to make the next step in commiting to it at some future point. Bar code is a fine idea. The biggest delay between runs will soon be down to the delay in radio communication. The wireless link would elliminate that. We need to get maximum runs per ho...
