Re: Record Updates
Not that I expect to need one soon, is it expected that people bring their own measuring gear to Speedweek?
Thanks

Re: Record Updates
Filling with oil doesn't allow for TDC combustion chamber volume.
There is a pump check tool as well that you disable the valves closed & crank the motor over with measuring tool screwed into spark plug.
Cheers

Re: Goodyear D2283 tyre growth
Bones Nice looking build, do you have a build thread on it? Did you make the hub centre steering? I'm pretty happy with the profile of the tyre mounted, just want to make sure I don't build the swingarm & front fork too short, hence this question. The motor have is out of a 1987 CBR1000f. Only h...

Re: Goodyear D2283 tyre growth
Thanks Greg I'm building a streamliner around a cbr1000 motor so hopefully in after few years running I will be needing LSR tyres. More collecting parts than making at the moment. I don't want to get a few years down the track & start again because I didn't make enough room for tyre growth. Than...

Re: Record Updates
Does anyone have pics of the bore measuring tools that are used with head still on?
The stroke is pretty easy to visualise with a centralised plug but the bore I can't get.
Thanks
Jon

Re: Goodyear D2283 tyre growth
Thanks Bones Hopefully will get a decent pace out of it one day, first year I will run the engine standard to make sure everything works ok. Will be going to Lake Gairdner this year to have a look & do some volunteer work. Plan is to take my bike in 2013. Like the bikes that you are building wit...

Goodyear D2283 tyre growth
Hi Does anyone have tyre growth data for Goodyear D2283 23x5x15 tyres. I got given some that is meant to be from Goodyear that seems a little weird, it shows the tyre as 9.8" radius @ 0 rpm, a 23" tyre should be 11.5" @ 0 rpm. I'm mocking up a front wheel well & want to leave enou...

Dry cell betteries in drivers compartment
Hi My son has been using A123 dry cell batteries in his road bike for a while. I'm going to use a couple in my project, space is a bit tight and I'm looking at mounting them in the drivers compartment. Obviously they have to be mounted securely & insulated. They are dry cells and don't gas out, ...

Hi
Udate for antone interested; Leatt will not be recertifying any neck braces & recommend that their braces are not to be used in vehicles fitted with harnesses.
Cheers

SFI 38.1 for reclined seat
Hi
What are people using SFI 38.1 compliant head restraint for reclined seating.
Hans go to 40 degrees, I am needing something for about 60 degrees.
Son has a Leatt neck brace which was compliant but now isn't on SFI list, am trying to contact Leatt about recertification.
Thanks
Jon

Re: Fire system question for motorcycle streamliner
Thanks for the welcome. Been a lurking member on here and landracing for a while. Read your's and Reverend's bellytanker thread, it's a credit what you guys have done. My project (pile of parts, dogeared rule book & heaps of sketches) is a around a CBR1000f. I will be running in the gas class. H...
