Re: reconsider please
I could have saved an absolute fortune and would have been able to race in 2009 if there had been a 130mph club like Bonneville. As it is - it's now 2015 and still looks sketchy as to whether I will get my car done in time. :( The VW 36hp challenge in an SCTA recognised class that falls under the 13...

Re: '56 Oval
I'm in Mile End just outside the CBD It's going to retain all of it's patina although the body will be waxed to protect it. Apart from a few small bits of welding the shell is rust free and pretty straight, it was probably a good candidate for a concourse restoration before I got my hands on it, but...

OK the COLON has been evacuated
Fixed the language issues, there should be no more CAPITALISED text. If you find any please posts back here and I will try to fix it up.
If you can still see the word COLON it try refreshing your browser or clearing your browsers cache.

Re: Forum Software update
The COLON issue (and some other CAPITALIZED text) is due to some missing entries in your 'language/en/common.php' file, it is likely not up to date. You can try to re-upload it or add the missing entries manually... EG: add the following line to the file 'COLON' => ':', Note that the entries in the ...

Re: worth a look at
That thing is awesome, 28 litres in a four cylinder is almost unfathomable - thats like a big block in each cylinder!! I read an article on this a while back (which unfortunately I cannot seem to find any more). I recall that the driver said that it took all of his courage to drive it. http://spokem...

Re: Fire system nozzle positions
Glen, what was the official outcome for the fire system. I'm just about to look at the fire system for the oval.

Re: '56 Oval
With Christmas out of the way I managed to sneak out in the garage and spend a day finishing off the window surrounds and moon disk fitment. The initial fittings that I made up to fit the moon disks worked really well so I simply replicated them until I had enough for three fittings for each wheel w...

Re: Blower / supercharger restraint.
Done some further reading on this and there seems to be four different SFI specs that relate to supercharger restraint devices, these are basically split into fuel types: Supercharger Restraint Devices - SFI Spec 14.1 Methanol Fuel Supercharger Restraint Devices - SFI Spec 14.2 Screw-Type Supercharg...

Re: Blower / supercharger restraint.
Cheers Dave. Yes these are the ones I've seen but they are far too big for my little tiny charger which is less than half that size. I could probably cobble something together but whatever I do would not be SFI approved. However... Just re-reading rule 3.x and it actually states SFI TYPE blower rest...

Blower / supercharger restraint.
I note that rule 3.X states that SFI Style blower restraints shall be used on all vehicles using positive displacement blowers. Try as hard as I can I cannot find anything suitable that would fit my setup. Here's some pictures of the blower mocked up on an engine case. https://vdubber.com/images/ori...

Re: '56 Oval
Progress over the past week has been a little slower than I had hoped. I've still managed to get stuff done but work has been massively busy so by the time I get home I've not felt up to much. But whilst my actual progress might not have been as good as I would have liked the ordered parts have been...
