Re: NORMAN " WIZARD " SMITH .
Read the rebuild manual last night for the Meteor V-12 tank engine and realized what we take for granted in rebuilding our race engines!! Measuring connecting rod bolt stretch is the "in thing" these days. Back in the 1940's there were up to 4 torque settings/rod bolt length measurements t...

Re: NORMAN " WIZARD " SMITH .
Checked again this morning and the newsagent didn't have any copies on their table so I asked and had a junior on the counter who couldn't help me.
Will check again on Monday and if possible grab whatever is available.
Should be around $12 to $15 with postage. Will keep you posted.

Re: What's happening on the salt?
Had a call from Pete Noy last night and Shane Gaghan has been posting on Facebook. Pete said that the ramp area is in good shape but there is some soft salt out further and some of the teams have pitted closer to the ramp. Trev Slaughter & Mastec Motorsports. A few problems with the timing equip...

Re: weather
Tony Cooke and Steve Vorwerk are going out on Thursday to do an inspection of the salt. Mainly concerned with the condition of the salt directly off the ramp. We want to make sure that it is good enough for the traffic generated from our event. Tony and Steve won't be driving on the lake, but they ...

Re: Lake condition and forecast
With the Inspectors from Health S.A. who allegedly will be in attendance, I am sure that there will be some form of "work method statement" or "standard operating procedure" that will need to be followed. As stated in the last DLRA committee meeting minutes, the new effluent trea...

Re: Lake condition and forecast
Spoke with Pete Noy yesterday arvo on his way home from the working bee up at the racer's camp. He said that they had gone down to have a look at the lake on Saturday evening and it looked great but they didn't go out very far as there was a hell of a wind blowing. He had another quick look at midda...

Re: ***YOUR CLUB NEEDS YOUR HELP***
You can count me in for a couple of days. I assume that all soil tests have been completed & engineering requirements satisfied. It's damn near impossible to get that sort of thing done this time of year. Hate to think we are going to dig a big hole only to be told we can't put anything in it. ...
