Lake Omeo?
Sorry to possibly appear really d-d-dumb, but I found out recently that there is a go-fast event planned for Lake Omeo. Can someone guide me to a thread that has everything I need to know about entering and competing? Unfortunately for me there is a clash with the Australian Hill Climb Championships...

Re: 2012 DLRA Speed Week Volunteers Register
Hi, I guess with the 'new' event there will be a 'new' volunteers register... how do we apply?

Probability of us racing? That's easy - either we will be racing... or we won't!

Re: OE wheel nut question...?
yeah and that is what I am trying to do. However the rules seem to require or encourage some plainly unsafe (outdated?) practices and I'd rather put my butt in a safe vehicle built with established automotive engineering/trade procedures. I'm under 200MPH. Steel valve stems and caps - no worries. Op...

OE wheel nut question...?
I have a VW Beetle and rather than the OE wheel bolts, I intend to use similar dimension OE Kombi M14x1.5 wheel nuts on the Beetle hubs with screw-in studs installed. This not only makes servicing/maintenance easier, but satisfies the DLRA rules' intention of visible thread engagement with wheel nut...

Re: Fire system nozzle positions
Hmmm... I was advised to place the cabin nozzle between myself and the likely fire source (rear of car in a rear engined VW) to act as a 'curtain' of protection. So with commonsense - and a lack of any other information from any source - that's what I did. No matter what, with 1000psi letting go the...

Re: Fire system nozzle positions
It says: "10 lbs min. Driver and engine, 0-200MPH" It does not say: "10lb driver system and 10lb engine system" or words to that effect that imply a total of 20lb on board each car, and/or mandatory inclusion of two separate systems (although this is accepted - see below). Even t...

Re: Racers pits check list
Hi, what is an accepted 'spill kit'?
Is a couple of bags of pet cat kitty litter sufficient?
Plus a plastic tub and shovel for disposal?
Regards

Re: Fire system nozzle positions
Hi, 2012 rules simply and clearly state "...10lb minimum. Driver and engine, 0-200MPH" with regard to fire protection This what I have installed. I'm under 150MPH. Number of nozzles and suggested/required locations not specified until 150MPH: "... include two nozzles (aimed at) header...

Fire system nozzle positions
I have bought a Coldfire bomb for my car, an air-cooled flat four VW Beetle. There are three nozzles. To comply with wording of the rules "driver and engine" rules I will need to install one of these in the cabin. Should I install it high or low? Aim it at the driving position? Or should I...
