Re: Shaguar

No Jag this year - probably next year. The Pursuit Special will make a return visit for the commute from camp to lake. The bus will be making the road trip down from Sydney. When the Jag comes down it will have a V12 but probably not the proper big HP one. If you are coming to Lake G Big Gaz will mo...

Re: Working Bee 2018

Rest in peace Rusty the timing ute! I got to drive him for a few wonderful years. There's nothing like a column shift and floorpan ventilation! My favourite thing in his later years was turning the headlights on by twisting the wires together under the bonnet. That and driving him on the choke. The ...

Re: Shaguar

I was in Sydney over the weekend and did get out to Big Gaz's Jaguar farm. I witnessed a V12 engine coupled to a Doug Nash 5 Speed sitting in the engine bay of the Shaguar. However....it's a mock up done to see what has to be done to make it happen - quite a bit. Move engine forward a bit, make up n...

Re: FEET FORWARD AG1350

I was reading your post Dave and that incident with the leathers popped into my head before I read your example of it. I was the one who volunteered to drive down to them in "Rusty" and ask them to kindly get the @#$% out of there. They seemed to think it unreasonable that they couldn't ge...

Re: Shaguar

Ovakil won't be racing either... Gaz has picked up the motor for Ovakil since it was removed and rectified following his mighty 236 mph effort in the Jag but it is yet to go back into Ovakil. He's had other priorities that have pushed back on Ovakil and the Jag, so.... should be racing next year in ...

Re: DLRA Speed Week 2018 Volunteers

"Paul Lynch is still around" It's nice to be thought of so highly Dave! The start line is the best volunteer job that you could ever hope to do - followed by the porta loos and then the timing van...... :D I have been a starter/asst starter/ start line dogs body every year since 2006 apart...

I've got to ask, since no-one else has. Where does the name come from - "The Truth"

Is it something to do with the movie - A few good men - "You can't handle the truth!"

I won't hear a bad word said about "Rusty" the ute. It was like a faithful old dog. It was a sad day to see it go, doorless, into the sunset!

Re: Shaguar

There was talk over the weekend of a naturally aspirated high comp V12 that is available for sale at a good price. It needs the intake to be set up and would most likely end up fuel injected because all the hardware is there for it already. This is the most likely engine for next year at the moment....
