Re: Compound Supercharged Turbocharged 125cc
Sorry couldn't resist sharing, sending this hand crafted water cooled billet piece off to poetonaptec ASAP. Aluminum conducts heat many times better than iron and billet aluminium conducts heat about 3 times better than cast aluminuim. http://i1320.photobucket.com/albums/u522/dplecko/IMG_0381_zps066...

Re: Supercharged CBR250 build
We are all racing against the clock, pun very much intended. My humble advice is (from yesterday's blow-up), don't be in too much of a hurry to run it cause you might find a weak link and break something :!: :!: So long as we learn. 8) Seen on a another (tuning) forum the other day how pipes in the ...

Re: Compound Supercharged Turbocharged 125cc
Here's that bloody boost gauge again:

Since added an ice inter-cooler with very good results, particularly in the mid range. Also a lot more consistent (no heat soak). Still learning the tuning and still on pump gas.

Re: Compound Supercharged Turbocharged 125cc
The fuel pressure regulator manufacturer has recently upgraded their seat design of the regulator, I have one now and it is significantly better as you can see in the datalog below, the new (red trace) regulator has much control, ignoring the transients and is almost exactly 1:1 boost referenced. fu...

Thanks for sharing
Good to see he used the following two phrases:
"If the turbo is too big, the boost will build up slowly"; and
"destroy the engine"

Re: Compound Supercharged Turbocharged 125cc
Just found probably a major contributing factor to the melted piston. Today just checked my well known high end brand fuel pressure regulator and the ratio is more like 0.8:1 not 1:1. Results in not much effective fuel pressure at high boost. To top it off the gauge i originally tested the boost ref...

Re: Vespa Dry Lake Racer lives...
For your blow though carb make sure your fuel pressure regulator is actually 1:1 boost referenced. Today just checked my well known high end brand regulator and the ratio is more like 0.8:1. Might not seem like much error, but if your boost pressure is significantly higher than your base fuel pressu...

Re: Sat phone sleeve for the iPhone
Telstra, Optus & Voda (in no particular order) all have these things called COWS (cell on wheels), unfortunatley despite threvenue and PR oportunity (1,000 prepaid SIMCARDS) they all want x$10k to deploy. One major benefit for us would be (edit: cost effective?) real time GPS tracking for each v...

Yeh, M84. Complete overkill but something that could be used on other projects.

Very much like the CNC.
2 cents worth on the pulleys, quite a big guide on either side of the pulley will help with crank flex, engine/bracket vibration, TDC acceleration, rev limiter and backfire. Even with the 3rd crank bearing I have belt marks in places that can't be explained!

Re: Supercharged CBR250 build
Looks ok. Judging by the can of beverage there is at least 10:1 plenum to cylinder ratio if not more. I am still worried about the mixture distrubition?
