Re: Motor Cycle Licensing

Welcome aboard JP, any info on your build?
Where in SEQ?, there's a few of of us in that area.
Ross Brown is chief bike tech, he should be able to clarify the licence thing but don't see it being an issue.
Especially as you have a car licence.

Cheers

How far forward can you take the front wheel chock Greg?
Could be a bit short in its current configuration :).

Re: What are the important points for a LSR engine buildup?

Hi Hp is your friend, build as much as you can reliably, gear it for your target speed and put up with abusing your clutch to get off the line if it bogs a bit. Your only down in the revs once per run unless you have ultra-wide gears. Guessing your project will be a bike engine seeing as you have a ...

Thanks for keeping us in the loop Rob, really feeling for the family.

BIRU is pretty confronting but the people there are pretty dedicated.

Re: Old School Aerodynamics

To get meaningful results with a model you need to get the same Reynolds number, faster airstream or higher viscosity fluid.

Hoerner's book "Fluid Dynamic Drag" has good info about openings in streamlined bodies.

Theres a fair bit you can do with the tail of an M bike as well ;)
Closing the hole is at leat as important as opening the hole IMHO.

Thanks Greg
That will give me a start to calculate the start and mile marks.
Will have to fine tune them when the track is laid out anyway.

Thanks

Track coordinates

Hi Who can I contact to get the track coordinates for this year? Both the long track and GPS track. I have a data logging system on it's way, one of the things it can do is split data at beacons or GPS coordinates. I know the track shifts from year to year but it will be easier to change the coordin...

Re: BIKE WEEK/CAR WEEK

Fully support a longer meeting.
Would like to let everyone run for the whole 8 days though rather than split us up.

Do not support 2 vehicles on the track at the same time.

Do suggest resurrecting part of the old timing equipment to allow sub 150 mph records be set on the current GPS course.

Re: QLD MEETING FOR ALL DLRA MEMBERS & VISITORS

I'm keen for a longer meet, Thursday through Friday sounds good.
Would also be keen to let everybody run for the whole 8 days and get more runs that way.

Fully agree we're all one club.
