Re: Shaguar

Chris,

At this point, finding a socket in the valley would be considered a positive development

Re: Shaguar

Got an email from Gaz tonight, It's bearings alright but not what I was thinking in the above post. To quote Gaz, "Big ends scored, mains marked and piston skirts scuffed." I should think the cam is a gonner and hope the cam tunnel in the block is serviceable. These came out but the cam is...

Re: Shaguar

I agree RE bearings. This was one short swipe for the camera, the valley has lots of it. Makes you wonder how much oil is thrown around for it to climb that high in the engine. The worry is, it's not all copper.

Chris,

No mate, I have too many to remember anything insignificant :/

Cheers,
Rob

Re: DLRA 25th Anniversary

Rain outs affected the number of Speed Weeks not the number of years of the DLRA's existence. I'm not being narky Greg, it was a mathematical observation.

Re: Shaguar

We pulled the heads but nothing enlightening resulted from that.

Here is the index finger swipe in the valley result... not so good and yet the cam lobes are as smooth as a babies bum.

and after a little coaxing, out comes the engine and box. http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu331/Dwizdofoz/Shaguar/JagEngine002_zps424f54fb.jpg After this we took the box off and put it onto the engine stand, Gaz is scoping out the exhaust ports here. http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu331/Dwizd...

Re: Shaguar

We were back at it today. Radiator and support out, wiring all disconnected and tied out of the way. http://i661.photobucket.com/albums/uu331/Dwizdofoz/Shaguar/JagEngine001_zps85bf5ce5.jpg Shift lever off, switch panel out, trans tunnel top off to access wiring and gearbox mount. http://i661.photobu...

Re: Lake Omeo 2012

The mate I was talking has family in the area. They told him that 34 lakes and dams need to overflow before it hits Omeo so serious rain is a safe bet.

Thanks Pete,

Just don't expect stellar progress. When it's done, it's done.

Re: Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC400

There are clearance issues beneath the bonnet, I haven't measured yet but everything in these is close. As an example, to fit extractors you have to pull the engine.

More like bird crap and dust Goggles!

Just a heads up.

Had a mate come by tonight who was in Omeo last week. He says that the lake is full.

Re: Toyota Soarer/Lexus SC400

Thanks RGV and Chris. The best 1UZ site I've found has recently gone from the internet and along with it much excellent information. The webmaster used to also sell CAD files for this adaptor plate and much more that would have simplified the whole operation. My adaptor will be marked out by hand, d...

If that's the case it'd be cheap insurance to drill and pin it post weld.
