Re: SOUTH AUST. MEETING & SATA INFO DAY

Hi David, you are more than welcome to come along. To be a member of the South Australian Timing association, you must have a vehicle to race, or be constructing one. This is the way hot rod clubs etc work. Racers get full membership, crew members get associate membership. In other words membership ...

Re: Ideas for 2014

Hope you are providing parachutes for the poor guys when the tower gets hit by an out of control car. . Apart from the high winds experienced at lake gairdner, it will get very messy when one gets cleaned up. Not a real smart idea. I have been in the timing caravan (which was 200 meters from the tra...

Re: Woomera1 - Glen Davis (Wheel Driven Land Speed Record)

The car is sitting behind a shed with other junk near El Mirage from memory. It had a number of different names, depending on which town he was getting sponsorship from. Not saying anymore about it on here.

Re: Speedweek 2014

The days are too short in April and May (not enough racing hours as it is). Besides which we have looked at the lake in those months & it does not recover from the March rains to be useable.

Re: Speedweek 2014

As a club we don't really have a duty of care, you cannot compare that to race incidents. It is unfortunate that this has happened but it is not the clubs responsibility. People know what to expect in the outback. Sorry to hear what happened to him but noone is to blame & moving back to March wi...

Re: Speedweek 2014

For all those "experts" who think we should go back to racing in March, have a look at the latest weather forcast for the area. Severe weather warning has been issued for Thunder storms, strong winds & rain. February is the best time & if people go into the harsh Australian outback...

Re: Are we RACERS or Politicians

The old timing equipment was manufactured in 1979 & donated to DLRA by the SCTA. in 1997. It was first used by us in 1998. It is a very costly system to maintain & very tempermental. Hence the new timing system.
