2010 Speed Trials

Post by DLRA »

Most of the people involved in the organization of the 2010 Speed Week will be leaving around Wednesday 3rd March.
If you don't have your entry in now, it's definitely too late to mail anything and please don't try to fax or email your entry. Entries will be accepted at the lake from Saturday onwards, but there is a late entry fee.
Likewise I won't be accepting any more job nominations after Monday night, come and see me at the entries tent or Race Control (Animal's Bus). There are still a number of jobs available especially early or later in the week.
I will have an updated entry list online Tuesday night.
Then that will basically be it until we get back around the 14-15th March.

We are going to try and do updates during the week but can't guarantee anything. Anyone who has been will understand the difficulty with communications.

Any questions? Go to the 2010 Speed Week page.

My photos http://s4.photobucket.com/albums/y108/dlra2/2010/ plenty more to come!
If anybody has photos, please forward to me, more the better.

Got home 6pm last night, unpacked the car and no computer!! Left it on the Club Animal bus at the new Faraday Animal homestead. FARK! Won't get it back until Tuesday or Wednesday so have been busy compiling the results manually.
Bloodly lot of work this year, lots more entrants and heaps more runs.
So bear with me, I will publish a provisional set of results hopefully by Wednesday.

I'll then let Cookey have a look at them and make any changes. The biggest problem will be where a vehicle had multiple drivers or ran more than one class as this is not easily distinguishable from the timing slips.

Once the results are nailed I will be giving the timing slips to Carol.

Ok, new 2010 page is now online complete with PROVISIONAL results and over a hundred photos I took (would have taken more but just no time).

There's still a lot of work to do on the results as you will see by my statements on the page. anyone with more information / corrections please send it to me.
Also photos, email or snail mail, send 'em in the more the better.
And if you see anything about Speed Week in the media I'd appreciate some details.

Look for plenty of updates over the coming weeks.

Great work Greg!

So quick!

I found I had to refresh the page after opening it, originally it was only showing pre event details, a quick click on refresh and all your hard work was revealed!

Many Thanks :P

I got a call from the company that hosts the DLRA website around the start of March, seems we had blown our download limit for the account we were on and I had to upgrade to the next level. Fortunately it's a monthly account so when interest starts to wane I can drop it back.
Thought I'd have a look at the stats today, were currently running at about double our normal average.
Great to see so many making use of the site.

G'day Greg,

Link to as many of these as you like. Though not dated they are in chronological order and I'm sure you can work out or fudge what day was what. I have about another 70 or so to add but that shouldn't change any of the existing addresses when I reorganise.

Yeah, it's a let down coming home after such a good week.
The Canberra Times had a half page or so feature on the salt racing with a photo or two this week. Pretty unusual for the local paper.
I've got plenty of photos but nowhere to host them. I might have to get a smugmug account.
Thanks to all who made it a fantastic meeting.

Godsilla,

Take a happy snap of the paper article and post it up too.

www.photobucket.com is free and easy for pic/video hosting.
