Re: 2011 Speed Week logo
51 other weeks of the year to wear it Lynchie.....just as long as they stay away from the " look mum I used every color in the pencil box" designs that they have at Bonneville I'm happy....it's great when you get shirts from the states...they're either so big you're looking for the poles and the fly so you can go camping or they're so gaudy they give you a headache......the designs that they've had since 08 are great I reckon..............Lynchy wrote:Looks good. I bought three shirts to send to the states from the Chopped show on the weekend, they got stolen out of my car......along with the stereo, ace.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..

Yes, yes, yes.
I found I needed a size smaller (at least) in US sizing to get something bigger than my size here...
I didn't buy an event shirt as they were, as you describe, done with every crayon in the box. We were given a participant shirt with a giant Monster energy drink logo on the back.... noice!
I've brought my bright orange SCTA official hat along for the trip to Melbourne Sunday. Bring sunnies!

The trouble is that many an old modeled, big gutted, beer guzzling, hot rodder, love to wear black.
Unlike a few of us more refined types, who may prefer to wear a nice designed white shirt with a collar attached.
Then we could go steppin out with Staytie.

Re: 2011 Speed Week logo
I like the new design but if we are starting a poll for black vs white t-shirts, make my vote white. Why anyone would want to wear black on the salt is lost to me.
Cheers,
Rob

thats true, i try to wear all my gaudiest motorsport clothes all week. i've got a vintage lime green kawasaki t shirt that my mrs reckons makes me look like a green m&m.
next time at the lake i will be debuting my cutoff green kawasaki jeans that i purchased from the clearance bin at work.
there's nowhere else i can wear them. i'm going to live in them all week.
least i'll be easy to spot.

G'day Paul,
Yeah but last years shirt at this years event is ok...right?
Thankfully it wasn't too hot last March, sooner or later we're going to fry again.
Cheers,
Rob

People love to purchase & wear their shirts, hats, etc; on the day (or week) of the occasion.
It gives them a since of belonging to the event. I don't see them as Noobs, but proud supporters of that event.
If they didn't feel this way I reckon our sales wouldn't be as big, & perhaps less income would be created.
I say grab a shirt & wear it with pride. Just make sure it's white bodied as black loves attracting the heat. Just put your hand on a black car in the sun.
