Yes Siam Station is one that you pass on the dirt on the way in, correct.

Road north and south of Tennant Creek is currantly cut for those coming down from the top end. They are allowing limited high 4WD and trucks through. The forcast till the end of the week is grim. I may have to fly out via Darwin Thursday unless it reopens.

The only people who would know are Transport S.A.,I have tried to contact them, but as it is a public holiday here, no one is answering. The road is open to 4WD & heavy vehicles as far as Mt.Ive station. Pete, DLRA #6.

The longer the road stays closed, the less damaged it will get from vehicles while it's a bit damp, Providing the weather stays good, I'm sure they will reopen it as soon as their public holiday hangover has subsided.

one thing you learn living in a big country is rain patterns happen and rain patterns offen confuse and miss their targets . Hense you can be standing and have the rain go right around or right over you and miss everything else . Having spent quite a time working at BOM sites i can tell you one rule is " they are not to have the window open when you are constructing your forcast it may influnence your forcast " . all will be good as if they "forcast rain .......... well will it"

The fact of the matter is that the authorities will not open the road unless the weather forecast is appropriate!

Anyone who travels on the closed road in a vehicle that does not meet the criteria can be prosecuted (and not covered by their insurance policy !!)

This has recently happened in Qld during the floods & cyclone events.
