Lake condition as at Dec.27th

Re: Lake condition as at Dec.27th
A big THANK YOU to all who made the effort to try and run a meet this year. Your efforts are indeed appreciated, even if mother nature ensured there was no result for this year. I'll be counting the days until the nextmeeting, such is life.
We rolled up at the turnoff at IK around 17:00 Sat. and the road was closed and the meeting cancelled, so I dragged my scurvy companion off to the Flinders Ranges instead for a few days sightseeing, and it was pretty good I have to say. I think the Flinders roads were probably the only outback roads that were open. We exited via Yunta, then home to the east coast. There was a bit of mud about, and everything is glow-in-the-dark green. LOTS of standing water in the paddocks.
My sympathy goes out to those who come from overseas, a lot of effort for little return, but that's the nature of this country. See you next year.

hi all
i know its early days but while returning from an outback holiday took a deture to the lake for a look , on saturday 24 sept.
we walked aprox one mile west from canteen and as far as we could see the lake was hard and dry in all directions so lets keep
our fingers crossed it stays that way

Cripes....you didn't have a camera?
Desperate, ( I nearly said enquiring) minds need to know......
It'll get wet again before March, the more often it gets wet when we aren't there the better it is, but there are specific thingswe like to hear.
1./ I drove my 56 tonne tank onto the lake and it didn't even leave track marks.
2./ There was a sign begging the DLRA to come back.

g'day,
a few soft patches close to the shore in front of the canteen, actual ramp area looked quite firm. lake did not seem as white as in the past, i suppose it stained from dirt being washed onto it. i'm sure you could have run on it last weekend.
I have a few pics from my iphone i will post soon once i work out how to...
Also, road in is in excellent condition.
