ELECTRIC BIKES / OMEGA CLASS

Post by SPOG953 »

Who out there is concerned about omega class rules and class direction / limitations / guidelines ? All concerned need to collaborate now to determine Australian interpretations of new (?) rules. VOLTwerks plans to be a major player in this class and wish to discuss rules with those equally committed, with consideration to rule submissions and/or ideas for class expansion........ (THE FUTURE IS COMING!!).............................. P.S. don't mention peak oil !! THE SUN WILL ALWAYS BE THERE !!!!!!!!.....SPOG@VOLTwerks.

Spog,
I am not a racer, as you are aware  , but I would like to see some changes to the rule which places limitations on the number of motors/engines allowed in any class. :? I see the 2 motor/engine rule as restrictive and unneccessary! :!: If some body wishes to build a racer with 10 motors/engines good on them provided all safety requirements are met. :D
Just my 2 bobs worth.
Cheers,
Trevor

Trev, I'm with ya mate, as we discussed earlier, I'm all for innovation and variation! I think a wheelbase rule/limitation and weight limitation is all that is needed to keep class sensible. Number of motors should not matter! cheers SPOG.

Perhaps we can follow the SCTA example as to new class submissions and introduction of new classes. This will eventually see us diverge again.

Chris, you are exactly right. As per the AGM held on the Lake I will have the Policy and Procedure for rule changes, as well as the new form for rule/class changes posted up on the web and the forum in a week or so. This will follow the SCTA current procedure just so people know I am not making this up as I go. The Rule Book Committe as a whole will decide on any changes so it will be fair to all members. There will not be the opportunity for one individual to dominate and change rules as has been purported to have happened in the past.

Yes Gaz
They have a common sense and fair system that has been worked out over time.
Their advantage over us seems to be that they have specialist commitees for many classes in the rule book. They will always beat us with numbers of available people but we as always can improvise.
