Graeme, that won't be problem, the reason we put that provision in is to prevent people coming off the street, having a run , & falling off. It all gets back to insurance requirements. See ya there, Pete. DLRA #6.

RGV specs. (standard)

Braking Distances

100-0 mph 89.1 metres
90-0 77
80-0 62.3
70-0 49.9
60-0 40.1
30-0 6.9

2600 meters - 200 meters for braking = 2400 meters of flat out :D

Standing quarter 13.3/106.4 mph

Acceleration Times

0-10 mph 0.7 sec
0-20 1.1
0-30 1.3
0-40 1.8
0-50 2.5
0-60 3.6
0-70 4.6
0-80 7.3
0-90 8.9
0-100 11.3
0-110 14.8
0-120 18.9
0-126 26.7

From that im guessing ill be hitting my top speed depending on gearing. Nice

Although the last 6 mph takes 8 seconds, about the same time it takes to get from 0-85 mph, or approximately 400 meters, so might pay to keep gearing a bit lower that

i planned using on the salt.

I have more HP and a better fairing than standard so this is just a guide.

My head hurts now

Tailem Bend is 2.6 km long Dave,

I think that may be the complete circuit , I believe there were a few racers there lately and its nowhere near that long, but hey its way better than a 1/4 mile and i'm not trying to throw cold water on any ideas just want to be sure of details :D

You only have about 600 meters of usable track, then there is the run off area. Give Smurf a call, he ran his truck there last week & can tell you all you need to know re length, surface etc. Regards, Pete.

Count me in guys 1.4 ks is whole lot better than sitting in the shed looking pretty ( the car that is). Nice work to Michael, Pete and Smurf. This could be good especially if we have a big following . If we support the venue there may be an opportunity to lengthen the straight later on as there is heaps of land.

Good effort Crow Eaters, good location for lot of members too.

Way too short for us but, low power, high geared, shit brakes ...we fail the first three items on the list. A 1400m straight would get us into the 170's with the current gearing, then we need probably 250m with a chute to stop..the car is pretty good at what it's supposed to do and sadly not easily adjustable for alternate venues. I'm not that confident that we'll be able to run at the playas that have been mentioned either as the surface tolerance on clay is not as fine as salt because of the solubility ......We chose 40mm of ground clearance and now we have to live with it.
...few understand what I'm trying to do , but they vastly outnumber those who understand why..
