We cruised past the Club Animal bus and entourage on the way in last year. They were doing it tough and that was before the van broke down and they towed it in! Visibility out of Gaz's Hilux was also poor due to the amount of mud covering it! It was a fun drive though...

What happens in the bus, stays in the bus...
Unless your in an L300 being towed by an F truck with no brakes through water feet deep for 120 kilometres, bouncing from one bank to another.
Nice one Stewie!!
Windows were that dirty I couldn't see out, well that's my excuse anyway.

At 7.30am this morning the rain forecast for next Thursday (15th) at Pt Augusta was 80% chance of 10-20 mm. By 8.30 this morning it had changed to 50% chance of less than 1mm :D :D

Since everyone is reading this thread, it might be the best place for an advert.

Get in quick - volunteer on the registry if you want to help out on the start line. There's been a lot of interest in the ops manuals for the start lines and this will hopefully generate into plenty of bodies wanting to get involved. Normally the beginning of the week is busy and there are usually plenty of helpers but later in the week we start looking for people. Make sure you spread your volunteering out over the full week!!!

Chris will be racing and so will Gaz and I (fingers crossed), so we will need people and we will train up anyone who wants to help.

Just got off the phone from Cled.....

The lake is dry and in good condition.
Even the wind is blowing the right way!
Unless there is any severe weather between now and Monday 19th March, we are racin'

Cled has also asked me to let people know that if they want to contact him use the mobile not his landline.

Coming from W.A.

Have your last night in Ceduna, fuel up food etc.
Ceduna to Wirrulla 70 km turn of follow dirt road signposted Hiltaba Homestead intersection at 27km turn right Hiltaba to Iron Knob road 73km to intersection old homestead ruins, Pondanna Ruins take a photo and turn right 16km to old wagon go straight couple of ks cross a small wooden bridge then keep a lookout for intersection/road to left almost have to look back to see it,should be DLRA sign this is the road to the lake.
You can also go in from Minnipa this road goes through Gawler National Park ok if dry but roads are rivers if heavy rain.
Kimba, this road is the Buckleboo road, it was wide an we sat on 100ks for the first 40/50 ks,at approx 106km turn of to the right i think its sign posted Mt ive st this road is aTRACK at best but take your time no worries 15 km to wagon couple of ks small bridge keep a lookout for DLRA sign/road on left.
Have used all these roads over the years,as well as Iron Knob road, there usually in better condition because of less traffic and nice to get of the main road.
Remember your in the outback take your time,be prepaired, and enjoy the ride.

See ya at the lake.
The Cups half full!!
