See Omeo got it's highest rainfall since records have been kept in the last 24 hours.

Anywhere else need some rain and we'll organise a meeting there ;-)

One of our team is called the rainmaster, perhaps a decoy event and we can send him too. :D

Well its wet but not full
about 300mm of water in the lake , bullrushes etc showing easily above the water, and it only reaches about 3/4 of the way up the lake , top end is still dry
so were forging ahead with the plans, more details will be available at the AGM

After reading the minutes of the Omeo meeting I have some questions 1. Is the course length only 1 mile ? I thought it would be 1.3 miles as is the yanky track......2.from my interpretation it appears we will be racing on rolled grass ,,,as in like lawn bowls ?????....really mmmmmmm can you say no traction. anyway it is all sounding great oh... any idea about entrance fees?
cheers

Gary were looking at maybe 2 miles under power and 1 braking , give or take some once we figure out just whats safe .
Grass is to be cut real short (sparse anyway ) then rolled, aim is to keep the root mass holding the surface , i don't think there will be much grass on the surface after the water subsides anyway

Where are we at with this?

We've had nothing but rain in East Gippsland for months. Best snow season for years.

I haven't been for a drive up but one of the guys from the gun club who runs a farm at Benambra reckons the lake's as wet as it's been for years. :(

Trying to work out whether I'm staying home for cup weekend or taking the wife & kids up to Port Macquarie. Or should I say I'm trying to work out whether I'm being given very little choice about going north...

Also need to know from the point of view of whether we're going to have to put together some medical support.

Was there any discussion/decision made on the running of the November event at the general meeting recently .

Yes Paul, the event has been offically cancelled for November after receiving more than 10" of un-seasonal rain this year.
However there is strong comitment to run an event in 2013.

There has been a notice on the DLRA website home page for a couple of weeks now and I pretty sure there are other posts on the forum where the cancellation gets a mention.
