2013 long range forecast

Post by gennyshovel »

I

The hemispheric long wave pattern has remained stable in recent weeks. There are four main troughs. Currently the most significant troughs are near the longitudes of South Africa, New Zealand, the southeast Pacific, and the Atlantic Ocean. Summary: Over southern and eastern Australia the cold front events with potential to bring widespread rain are now expected about 16 January to 20 January, 27 January to 31 January, and 2 February to 6 February. Rain events originating in the tropics and moving south are possible about 9 January to 13 January, 15 January to 19 January, and 29 January to 2 February. Over Western Australia the strongest cold fronts should occur about 10 January to 14 January, 16 January to 20 January, and 2 February to 6 February.
